Yamato was insane.

He had strength, both physically and connected to her Devil Fruit, that you wouldn't believe.

I flew up and caught him in the air as he flew back, slowly lowering him down and smiling a bit. "Hey, Yamato. You're going to love going out to sea."

"I'm sure I will."

Where Luffy was, I didn't know, but he wasn't dead. He could still bring Yamato out to see. I don't know if he would let him become part of the Straw Hats, but I knew that Luffy had the heart to carry out a dream.

I raised my fist again.

"Gomu gomu no pistol!"

I felt Kaido's scale bash against my fist and I landed back on the ground.

"You take power from others... do you even hold your own?" Kaido questioned. My brow twitched and I unsheathed my sword. "Sure I do. Want me to show you?"

Yamato laughed a bit. "You're interesting, Y/N."

"Why thank you. My brothers say so as well." I sped forward with Yamato by my side, both of us coming to a mutual agreement. The face is his, the body is mine.

He jumped up while I ran behind Kaido. I only ever learned out to use one sword, but I was perfectly satisfied with slicing Kaido like a cinnamon roll. I slice across his scales as his head was hit back by Yamato's weapon.

"You know Kaido, if you were a cool guy, I'd ask you to teach me how to incorporate Conquerer's Haki into my weapons." I shrugged. "A shame, really." I stabbed my sword into his skin one final time.

I heard his cry of pain and jumped up as his tail swung my way.

I let out a breath. I really don't know how that worked, but it did.

Once I regrouped with Yamato, my arm suddenly burst into bright blue flames. My eyes widened, knowing I did not do that myself.

Should I leave Yamato up here? But there's so many people down there with Marco. But if Marco was bested then-

"Y/N?" Yamato put his hand on my shoulder. "You seem to be in pain."

Kaido let out a laugh. "I see... your power is based off of connections."

He figured it out that fast?

"The concept of family used in a crew..." Kaido stared down at me, specifically the tattoo eternally engraved on my arm. Oyaji's jolly roger. "It's foolish."

I flinched at the sound. "Excuse me...?"

"Your captain was foolish. Viewing his crew as his sons and daughters. Wanting a family. There is no room for that in the pirate world. A brotherhood between crewmates is simply a childish fairy tale, quickly to be crumbled by the cruel world once they grow up."

I went still. Did I hear it right? Did this bastard dare to insult my crew? Did he just dare to insult Oyaji?

"You know," I said with a laugh. "You're a funny one. Really, really, damn funny!" I stepped forward, a smile on my face. Not the cocky one or the happy one. "It's been a while since I've heard that joke! You wanna know what happened to the guy who dared to let Oyaji's name leave their disgusting mouth? The last person who dared insult my family?"

I laughed. "I needed Oyaji to stop me. Unluckily for you... he's not here."

I glanced at Yamato, who gave me an earnest nod.

"Yamato, I can tell..." I began, knowing he was about to allow me to do it by myself. "that what's in your blood is not who you consider family." I tilted my head towards Kaido. "Vengeance is best served by two. Besides, someone's gonna have to fill in when I go save my idiot brothers."
