Allison Argent
The first week of the holidays was all laziness. She had to dig deep to find the motivation to get up. She couldn't find any. But today she did. It was the day before Astrid's birthday and, as much as she didn't want to throw her dead girlfriend a birthday party, she promised Astrid she'd do it for Davina.
She threw her duvet off herself and got up, heading straight for her window. She stared at the blinds, seeing the sun hit her purple drapes then drew them open. The sun was shining on and blinding her. Allison tied her hair up into a messy bun walking over to her mirror. She stared at herself in the mirror. She sighed, heading out of her room and downstairs to the kitchen.
Upon arriving in the kitchen, she went to the cabinet and grabbed out a mug. Her dad was standing by the coffee pot.
"Good morning, sweetie," he said. As Allison walked over to the coffee pot to stand next to him, he kissed her on the forehead. "I'm glad to see you're up." He began walking away to stand by the counter.
Allison stayed looking away, pouring coffee into her mug, and grumbled, "mm."
"I know it's gotta be tough. What with Astrid still in New Orleans and all," he said.
"You have no idea," she mumbled to herself.
"But I say you just gotta get out there and enjoy yourself," he suggested. "It's summer break. Have fun. Live a little." Allison faked a smile and took a sip of her coffee. Her phone began vibrating. It was Lydia.
"Hey, Lydia," Allison answered, monotone.
"Hey. Are you okay?" Lydia asked, concern.
"Fine, just tired," she replied, scratchy her forehead. "What's up?"
"Just checking if you're free today?" She asked. "Malia and I are gonna go shopping for Astrid and Davina to buy birthday decorations. Meet me at mine around one?"
"Yeah. Yeah, sure." She said goodbye then hung up the phone, dropping it on the bench and turning to face the wall. She placed one hand on the bench and the other perched on her nose with her eyes shut.
"Hey, sweetheart?" Her dad called out. "Are you okay?"
"Mm-hmm," she replied grumpily. "Yeah, I'm fine." She turned around. She grabbed her drink, "I'll be in my room." And with that, she took her drink and her phone and walked back on to her bedroom.
She threw her phone on her bed and placed her mug on her desk. She stood in the middle of her room for a second. Then, she moved off to the bathroom for a shower. She turned on the shower tap, took off her clothes, then hopped in.
She tipped her head under the shower head, wetting her hair. She grabbed the soap bottle, massaging it in her skin.
After about ten minutes in the shower, she hopped out. She wrapped the towel around her and walked back to her room, running her fingers through her hair. She moved to her closet to find a pair of clothes. She found a pair of washed blue jeans, and a lacy, white long sleeve shirt.
She dried herself then got dressed. As she was putting on her shoes, she looked at her phone. The lock screen showed a picture of her and Astrid from when they went ice skating. It brought tears to Allison's eyes.
She looked at the time. 10:45. She had plenty of time before she had to go meet Lydia and Malia to set up for the party tomorrow so she decided it was high time she dropped by the Hale loft to check up on Davina, a promise asked by Astrid, and a promise she was planning on keeping.
