Allison Argent

Allison was sitting on her bed, staring down. She had no clue what happened. How was she alive? She died. She knew that much. And where did Astrid go? She wasn't sure how she was alive but she thought the one person who would be there would be Astrid. Where could she have gone?

Where's Astrid? Was the first thing she asked as her friends gathered around her.

Um... I'm not sure. She was right here, Scott replied, glancing around and seeing her gone.

She looked around the place but couldn't find her. When her dad showed up, he was so glad to see her. Allison didn't want to leave until she found Astrid. But Chris told her to call her when they got home. So that's what she did.

However, she didn't answer. Again. And again. And again. Allison was getting worried. She did everything she could to find Astrid and keep her alive. So, what happened?

My love. Said a voice ever so softly. She looked up. Saw nothing. She looked back down. I'm so sorry. The voice said again. The faint sound of a female voice. She looked back up. This time she saw something. Well, more like... someone.

'Astrid?'

Astrid looked stunned. 'Wait, you can see me?'

Allison didn't say anything. She just smiled and jumped off her bed, giving Astrid a hug. Then that happy feeling went away in an instant when she hugged her... because she couldn't feel her. 'Astrid, why can't I feel you?'

Astrid smiled. 'I'm so happy it worked. You're alive.'

But Allison couldn't be happy about it. Because something was wrong. 'Astrid, what did you do?'

Her smile never faded, because although she was gone, the love of her life was alive. 'I performed a spell right after you died that brought you back to life.'

'But... what happened to you?' Astrid continued smiling, but a tear dropped. 'You died... to save me?' She nodded. 'No. No, why would you do that?'

Astrid cupped Allison's face. 'I did it for you. Because I love you. And you deserve to live.'

'What about you? Astrid...' She choked up. 'Astrid, I need you.' Her voice broke.

'I know. And it's okay. You can see ghosts now. We can talk whenever.' Allison shook her head, tears falling down. 'I just... I need you to do me one favour. Tell our friends that I'm visiting friends in New Orleans. Please-'

'What?' Allison questioned shaking her head. More tears dropped as she walked away from her ghost girlfriend. 'No, no. They deserve to know.'

'I know. I know. But they're happy. Junior year is almost over and they have made wonderful plans for summer break. I don't wanna ruin that.' Allison cried, trying away from Astrid and choked back a sob.

Astrid's ghost walked around and stood in front of Allison, placing her hands on her shoulders. But Allison didn't even realise. 'You don't need to worry about me. Okay? I'm finally reunited with my mum. Just... tell my family I'm okay and make sure they keep this a secret.' She paused.

'I love you. Allison Argent.' They stared at each other for a while then Astrid turned off and left with her mother, then they faded away.

Allison's heart sank. She dropped onto her bed and she cried.

**

It's been a week since Astrid's death. Still, no one knew. Allison told Astrid's family that she wanted her death to be a secret. That her final wish was for her friends to be happy. But how could Allison be happy knowing her girlfriend sacrificed her life to save hers. She gave up everything for Allison. She knew she should be grateful. Grateful to have been given a second chance at life. But how could she live a life without Astrid? Without the love of her life?
