Astrid Claire

Astrid couldn't believe she was alive. Standing beside her sister and her girlfriend. She couldn't believe her eyes. She did it. Davina actually did it. She only hoped that no one got hurt in the process. If someone did, she couldn't live with herself.

Maybe it was the whole coming-back-from-the-dead thing but Astrid was feeling very tired. But before leaving, she wanted to make one quick pit stop. Astrid told Davina and Allison to go back to the hotel and pack up their stuff. Astrid wanted to go on a walk by herself around her hometown before leaving.

She walked around the streets, visiting all the old places she used to go to with her mum. All the colourful streets. The music, the people. She missed it all. Then she saw it. Rousseau's. That was where Josh worked. She walked inside. The first person she saw was Nicholas. A friend of her mother's. He saw her walk in. He smiled at her as she sat on a stool.

"Astrid! Hey," Nicholas welcomed in a cheerful tone.

"Hey, Nick," Astrid replied, smiling.

"How have things been?" Nicholas asked while washing out a glass with a cloth.

"Ah. Well, let's just say things have been interesting. I feel like I just woke up from a very long nap." She laughed, but Nicholas just seemed confused. "Um, is Josh here?"

"Yeah, he's in the back. I'll go get him." He put down the glass and the cloth and moved to the back area to grab Josh. Astrid looked around her. She leaned forward and grabbed a full shot glass and drank it. Then she heard Josh's voice. She wiped her mouth and looked up. He smiled when he realised it was her. He ran to her and wrapped his arms around her, bringing her in for a tight hug.

He pulled back. "You were dead. How are you alive?" He gripped her arms tightly and looked her up and down, to make sure she was feel,y alive and he wasn't hallucinating.

"Davina," she simply replied.

He smiled brightly. "That girl never ceases to amaze me." He pulled her in for another hug.

During the hug, Astrid's phone buzzed. She released the hug and checked her phone. It was Allison. They were ready. They were going home. "I have to get going." She smiled. "I just wanted to drop by before I left."

"And I'm glad you did." He gave her another hug, this time much tighter. Josh and Astrid said their goodbyes then Astrid left Rousseau's. She needed to head back to the hotel to meet up with Davina and Allison. But before doing that, she had one last stop to make. One last person she had to see.

Astrid arrived at St. Louis Cathedral. Standing outside, she heard the muffled voice of a fellow friend. She smiled to herself then headed inside. There were dozens of witches. Vincent and some of his friends were giving them food. He was talking to a beautiful young lady when he spotted her. He patted her on the shoulder then walked to Astrid.

He gave her a big hug, lifting her off the ground. Astrid squealed. He put her down and looked at her. "She did it."

Astrid nodded. "She did."

One of the elder witches, Meredith, approached Astrid. "Ah, Astrid. You're here," she said in a rude tone. Astrid rolled her eyes and folded her arms. "Why is your sister Regent? You know that role was for you. Your mother spent years preparing not just you but us too for you to take charge as Regent."

"I know, Meredith, I know," Astrid said, trying to calm the situation before Meredith decided to lift something or someone on fire. "But Davina did what she had to do."
