Chapter 13

Lockey reached his professor's office following his order to visit him there. He doesn't know what would they talk about, but maybe something that's related to his studies back home as it was a little complicated for his situation, but as he sees it, it wouldn't be much of a problem.

He knocked on the door announcing his presence outside of his professor's office. As he heard the permission for him to go inside the room, he slowly pushed the door and walked inside, and saw Sir Gregory sitting behind his desk.

All smiles coming from Sir Gregory greeted Lockey fairly. Hindi naman niya alam kung bakit parang ang good mood ng datingan ng professor nito. He also had in mind that nothing bad happened so that was kind of a little assurance for him that all is well back home.

"Lockey, sit please," utos nito at itinuro ang brown na upuan sa tapat ng lamesa nito.

"Thank you, sir," magalang na pagsagot nito na may ngiti pa sa labi. He straightened out his arms and slide them on his pants. Halatang kinakabahan sa kung ano man ang sasabihin sa kanya ng guro niya. "Ano po palang meron?"

"I have a little bit of good news for you," he started. "I know you will love it."

Napakunot na lamang ng noo si Lockey at iniisip kung ano ang ibabalita nito.

"But first, I just want to ask how are you here? How do you find the academy?"

"Uhm..." Napaisip naman ito nang isasagot. "It's good to be here, sir. Though I know I've got a lot of things to learn, and I'm looking forward to knowing such things, especially anything about my father."

"I see," Sir Gregory said. "I'm sure you'll get to know them more since I've talked to your aunt personally and told you'll be transferring to another school and you will finish the rest of your classes in the CAPES."

Nanlaki na lamang ang mata ni Lockey dahil sa pagkakabigla. Tila naguguluhan din naman ito sa mga nangyayari at sa biglaang paglipat sa kanyang school.

"Don't you worry, I've handled it already at your school and your aunt already gave you permission. You'll be meeting her later tonight so you'll be able to formally it to her. It'll be a fantastic journey for you here, Lockey. I'm excited to see grow as one with the CAPES."

Still, at wonder, Lockey was just accepting every word Sir Gregory said. He's not really sure how to digest everything he had said and how this turn out of event would benefit him in the long run.

"What do you think, Lockey? Are you excited?"

He swallowed but didn't give a nod or shake his head. "I'm not quite sure, sir..."

Sir Gregory laughed it off, trying to make it easy for Lockey to absorb it. Tumayo naman ito sa kinauupuan mula sa likod ng mesa at lumipat ito sa upuan katapat nang kinauupuan ng binata.

"You'll be fine here, Lockey. I'm sure of that. You've got a lot of things to learn and just like what you've said, you want to know more about your father, I guess this is the right opportunity for you to do that. It has come in your direction, do not waste this chance to find the things you were looking for, alright?"

Napatango na lamang ang binata at saka ito tinapik ng guro. Tatayo na sana si Sir Gregory at babalik sa kanyang upuan nang umangat ang ulo ni Lockey at tinawag ang pansin nito.

"Sir, may tanong lang ako," pahabol nito.

"Yes, Lockey? Ano 'yon?"

"No'ng nakausap mo si Tita Amora... nando'n din ba si Gage? Iyong boyfriend niya?"

Umiling naman ang guro. "No. I haven't seen him or met him there. Ang tita mo lang ang nadatnan ko kanina no'ng bumista ako sa bahay niyo. Though I didn't take too long so maybe he was around. She just let me inside the living room and offered me some snacks and drinks, she was so nice, but I went with what I was after. What's the problem? Should I also tell him about that?"
