Chapter 28

When they discovered that the Lockey they found and had been talking to since this morning wasn't the one they knew. Dahil hindi nila alam kung anong gagawin namin, nagdesisyon ang tatlo na ipaalam na sa kanilang mga guro ang nasaksihan nila. Kinakabahan at hindi mapakali pero kailangan nilang sabihin ang totoo dahil kung hindi ay isang panganib ang maaaring maidulot nito.

Tumungo sina Simon, Malcolm, at Klein sa office ng kanilang guro na si Sir Gregory. Nagtutulakan pa ang tatlo kung sino sa kanila ang magsasabi hangga't sa pagbuksan sila ng pinto ay hindi sila humantong sa desisyon.

Baka sa mukha nila ang pagkalilito at takot. Ipinatuloy sila sa loob at naupo sina Malcolm at Klein sa magkaharap na silya sa tapat ng wooden desk ni Sir Gregory habang nanatilig nakatayo si Simon sa tabi ni Malcolm.

"What can I do for you guys or do you have something for me?" Sir Gregory started, resting his back against the chair.

Nagkatinginan naman ang tatlo at naghihintay kung sino ang unang magsasalita, but Simon had enough.

"This is about Lockey," panimula nito. "This is gonna be weird, but please listen to what I will say because we saw it. The three of us saw that it wasn't the Lockey we knew."

Napakunot na lamang ng noo si Sir Gregory habang pinakikinggan si Simon.

"After the incident last night and until he was found this morning, Malcolm and I tried to access the CCTV on the area where he was found. We're sorry if we did that without permission from the security department, but we found something that confused us until Klein said something to us."

"Okay, how Lockey is different from who we knew?" Sir Gregory asked.

"It is because it was a different person, someone that tried to imitate Lockey, or probably it was him from another universe. It that was even real, but we were saying. . . Lockey was trapped somewhere, in some timeline, even before he was born."

"I can prove that," Klein said, taking out the picture from his pocket and handing it over to their professors. Sir Gregory took the photo from him and analyzed it. "As you can see, those people are old students of CAPES and that photo has been here for a long time. There was the headmaster and Lockey's father in their early 20's I think. . . That photo wasn't just like anything else."

"What do you mean? This seemed like a normal photo for me, Klein?"

"There." He pointed corner where the tree was and a blurry person was in it. "That's Lockey and he has been transported back in the 80s."

Tinitigan ito ni Sir Gregory at iniangat niya ang tingin niya sa mga estudyante. Bakas sa mukha nito na hindi siya naniniwala sa sinabi ng tatlo dahil mahirap para sa kanya na paniwalaan 'yon. He wasn't in the CAPES at the time the picture was captured, but he knew the surroundings were still similar to what they are today.

"Come with me, let's go find this tree," Sir Gregory said.

Nang lumabas si Sir Gregory ng kanyang office ay sumunod naman ang tatlo. Hindi nila alam kung anong tumatakbo sa isipan ng kanilang guro ngayon, pero nasisigurado nila na ang kanilang ipinarating na mensahe ay hindi isang kasinungalingan.

Nang makalabas ng building ay tinungo nila ang pwesto kung saan kinuhaan ang picture. Sir Gregory was still a little bit hesitant about what were trying to say. When he asked where was Lockey, Klein said he was out in the field. They weren't able to check in on him there as they needed to see first the tree they were talking about.

As soon as they reached the tree, it was just like others and didn't look different to him. Malcolm and Simon tried standing in the same spot where they posed for the picture. The building didn't change its looks, but the grass and some extra details don't tell anything.

"Guys, come here!" Sir Gregory called, waving his hand for them to come over. "I think I found something. . ."

When their professor pointed out something engraved on the tree, they were flabbergasted. They tried to understand what was written in it.

I am trying to get back, please help me. . . - Lockey

Malcolm gasped as soon as he understood it. "That just said. . . I am trying to get back, please help me. . . I don't know how we will going to help him because he was at another time. What can we do? I really think we should do something because that person out there who tried to be our Lockey could be dangerous, not just to us. . ."

"I'll tell this to our headmaster. He might know what to do. Can I keep this photo for now, Klein?"

"Yes, sir, you can. . ." Klein said, nodding his head. "I really hope we can get Lockey back."

"I hope so. . ."

Later on, while they were heading back inside, some students were running back inside their rooms as if something bad had happened. When Sir Gregory asked, Aurea came out of the room calling all their attention.

They walked inside one of the rooms where there was a television, Aurea showed them that there was another attack in Summit City. Some people have been injured from the said incident. The report said that it was done by an abomination—a person who could move fast.

"It can't be him. . ." Sir Gregory uttered.

After a while, a live report was broadcast and the next thing was shown was someone they couldn't believe would be seen on TV. It was Lockey and he attacked the field crew reporters and then vanished in just a second.

Nagkatinginan na lamang silang lahat dahil hindi nila inaasahan na aabot sa ganitong sitwasyon ang lahat. Hindi na naman nag-atubili pa si Sir Gregory na dalhin ang impormasyong nakuha nila sa kanilang headmaster dahil para sa kanila, isa na itong malaking breach dahil si Lockey ay estudyante ng CAPES at hindi nila kayang palagpasin ang pangyayaring ito.

"If we need to stop that person in the cruelest way, we will. Now or never. For CAPES and for Lockey," Sir Gregory stated.

At that moment, even though Simon, Malcolm, Klein, and Aurea were all concerned about how they were going to do this, they knew they all had to come together to end this anomaly. To end Lockey's doppelganger's run.
