Chapter 34

Lockey's hands and feet were strapped in a bed while people wearing white lab gowns were checking in on him every single second. He was trying to understand what was going on. He asked these people, but they wouldn't even say a single word to him. Just the confusion setting in him was tremendously infuriating.

"What is happening here?" he asked, once again, no one dared to answer his question. "Could anyone tell me what was going on? Please, I need to be out of this place."

"This is the best place for you to be in right now," someone responded to him but ignored him again straightaway.

"I don't think this is the right place for me to be in right now," sagot naman ni Lockey. "If you keep doing this to me, this won't do good. Not for you, not for me, not for this city."

Even though Lockey tried his best to make them listen to him, no one did. When the woman who was seemingly obeyed everyone in the room announced that they were finally done checking in with Lockey. He thought they'd let him go when they started removing the straps from his hands and feet, but a few guards came into grabbing him by his arm to bring him to what they said was his own cell—seemingly a prison.

Pumapalag pa si Lockey habang idinadala ito ng mga naglalakihang katawang guards. They started dragging Lockey when he was trying to stop them, but couldn't do so. After that, they reached the door wherein they entered a hallway when passing through, lights from the ceiling switched on making Lockey see people were put up behind a glass wall. 

Nanlaki pa ang mata ni Lockey nang makita niya ang nabalita noong mga abomination. Ang isang lalaki na may spikey hair na may kakaibang ice ability at ang isa naman ay babae na may pulang buhok na nakaupo lamang sa isang tabi at sinundan siya ng tingin. As he passed by the cells, he found a few people who were on the news and announced captured by the government. Now that Lockey was put up in the same situation, he doesn't know what to do because these people who have their abilities for so long can't get out of this place, it would be a hopeless case for him. Never he would see the outside world again.

Once they reached the cell where no one was in it, Lockety figured out that it was for him. The glass wall was shut down and he was thrown off inside. The glass wall quickly went back up in just a second making Lockey trapped infinitely.

He tried running through the glass wall, but they were so thick and even shouting wouldn't make any change. Looking across the room, the other people who were in their cells were watching him. Giving up wasn't on Lockey's vocabulary, so just sitting there and doing nothing wouldn't make any sense for him. He needs to leave this place.

But pushing himself too hard for a few times made him exhausted. Lockey was chasing his breath, holding on to his knees, trying to make another run through the wall. The next thing he found out, a woman came to see him making him stop going against the glass door.

The woman had her hand inside her lab gown's pocket. She was looking straight at Lockey, studying what he was doing. Lockey was then shouting at her, but she wasn't moving anything but only watching him.

"Get me out of this place! Please, I'm telling you. This isn't the best place for me."

Later on, she stepped forward and spoke, "Hello, Lachlan. Would you repeat what you were saying?"

"You can't hear me?" he shouted.

"I'm afraid, I do not," she said, shaking her head. "These glass walls were made to trap all sorts of things, one of them was the sound inside the cell. No matter what you do, it would be useless. Again, what were you saying?"

"Never mind, unless you will help me."

"I don't think I can do that."

"What do you want from me though? Why are you all keeping us in here?"

"I'm afraid I cannot answer your question."

"Of course, you can't." Lockey rolled his eyes. "Just leave us alone and get on with your job by killing us. That's what you do to us, right? You're such a helpless human being afraid of us. . ."

"Yes, you're an abomination and we have to stop each one of you from propagating."

"What?! This is stupid."

"There's no such thing as stupid when we're trying to make the world a better place for everyone."

"You're just making it worse."

"Do we?"

"Fucking yes!" Lockey retorted. "Just get us out of here!"

"Did you know why I came here, Lachlan?" she questioned him, but he was too annoyed to answer her question. "I came here to see you because I wanted to talk to you and check in on you. I think you're having a good time. . ."

"What?! Are you blind or just crazy?"

"I am well, Lachlan," she said, smiling like a villain. "It seemed like we've talked great today, I'm going to see you again soon. For now, take a rest. . ."

"Wait! Wait!" Lockey shouted, punching the glass wall as the woman turned around.

His voice muted when she walked away and was left helpless from his condition. Nang tingnan naman niya ang ilang tao na nasa kanilang mga cell ay tiningnan lang siya. 

These people have tried numerous times, with all their power, but to no avail, giving up the thought of escaping from this place replaced their mindset.

With a tired Lockey, he gasped out of the air as he landed on his knees on the floor. He had no idea how to get out of this place when he tried everything he could, now he was just like anybody else. Hopeless and gets back to his old self, just a normal human being.

But Lockey just didn't give up yet.

He stood back up on his feet and positioned himself, aiming to run through the glass wall, but before he could, someone showed up in front of his cell and at that moment, Lockey stopped learning that the woman in front of him was familiar to him, he knew that the woman who met them earlier when he was brought inside was familiar to him.

"Mom?" Lockey mumbled.
