When Lockey was transported back to the year 1991, again, he felt hopeless and devastated. It was like he was punched in the gut knowing that he was almost there, but he couldn't be on the exact timeline he should be at.
Ozzie rubbed his hand on Lockey's back just to make him feel better. To Ozzie, he really doesn't know what to do as encountering this person who just told him was his future son was definitely an odd thing to discover. He was just trying to play it along as it seemed like the seventeen-year-old kid was true enough to his words.
"Don't lose hope, kid. You did it once, why don't we try it again?"
Lockey took a deep breath, raising his head to meet his father's eyes. "I feel like I couldn't do it anymore. Might as well get stuck here forever."
Ozzie smirked, shaking his head. "Can you hear what you were saying now? I don't think you should give up, kid." He kneeled down to get to Lockey's level. "Look, if you're just going to give up, you're giving up your whole life out there. You don't belong here yet. You just have to believe in what you can do. There was nothing good in making yourself feel like a loser after losing for the first time. That's not just how it works."
Lockey listened intently to what he said. Hearing his father's advice at such a young age was weird for him, but he knew that he was right. Everything his father said was right so there was no doubt he should just give it up because it all made sense for him.
"Come on, kid. Before anyone catches us here, let's get you back to your time."
Ozzie patted Lockey's shoulder and grabbed his hand to help him stand up from slouching on the ground. When Lockey finally got on his feet again, he took a deep breath and let it all go at once. Ozzie noticed the change in Lockey's attitude as he now saw the fire and determination in his eyes.
"Remember, don't lose your focus. Keep the energy within yourself and once you've felt the spark within your veins, let it go. Are you good?"
Lockey nodded. "Yeah, I feel like I am now. . . Let's do it?"
"You bet, go on, find your spot."
Lockey watched Ozzie get on his position. He never got to see his father when he was still young so close to showing off his ability. TV news couldn't catch Ozzie running due to his incredible speed and only showed a blur of his image. Some were wondering who was it because the only thing they knew about the blurry image of this person who could run so fast was Flicker. The world never got to know who was the person behind those images.
"Hey, before we do it, I just want to do something. . ." Lockey said.
Ozzie stood straight up. "Alright, what is it?"
He was waiting for Lockey to say anything to him, but to his surprise, he hugged him so tight he didn't know how to react. He could feel that the hug from this strange man he just met today was genuine. He only laughed it off when Lockey's been hugging him way too long. He patted his back for him to move away.
