Tommy POV

The days passed by quickly and Tommy felt better and better every day. He could move much quicker, almost to the point of running. There were limits of course, but it was much better than the days prior.

Tommy had learned to appreciate Sam. The older was kind and wise. He looked out for Tommy and in return, the blonde looked out for him.

They had been making their way through the woods for days and Tommy was growing restless. He craved something knew besides just trees. So when he spotted a colorful clearing, he couldn't help but take off. Completely forgetting that Sam had went to go get water from a nearby stream. He assumed he would be back quickly so the older wouldn't notice.

He ran as quickly as he could, attempting not to irritate his ankle. A smile spread on his face as soon as he caught sight of the flowers. Hundreds, if not thousands, of alliums covered the field. It was a beautiful sight that reminded him of home.

Only a few years before, Ranboo and him had run away from their homes to escape the stress and pressure. Their parents had been insisting they start making future decisions, and neither of them were ready. So they ran off, hoping to find peace for a few hours.

And the first thing they came to was a field of alliums. Tommy remembered the bright smiles they exchanged before relaxing in the field. It was just so peaceful, it was the perfect escape.

"I wish we could stay here forever!" Ranboo exclaimed, closing his eyes to take in the peace.

Tommy agreed, gently picking a flower. "Too bad we can't." He brought the flower up to his nose, taking in the wonderful sent.

"But we can come back!" the brunette exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear. "This can be our secret place, just for us!" It sounded like the perfect idea. A special place just for them.

The blonde chuckled. "That sounds great." He allowed his smile to fall for a moment. He couldn't help but get lost in his own thoughts. "I can't believe we're growing up." he commented.

Ranboo sat up, a sigh escaping his lips. "We're just closer to our dreams."

"Yeah... but it's just so stressful." Tommy picked another flower, gently twisting it in his fingers. "I just..." he shook his head, cutting himself off.

Ranboo glanced at him with concern. "What?"

"I'm scared." Tommy confessed, avoiding the older's eyes. "I'm scared of all the possibilities... I'm scared I'm going to mess everything up like I always do." He was afraid to look at his friend, feeling that he might judge him.

Instead, an arm wrapped around his shoulder, causing him to look up. "Well, whatever happens we'll have each other's backs. We'll be alright as long as we're together."

The blonde couldn't help but grin at his best friend, nodding.

"TOMMY!"

Tommy barely had time to look up before he was tackled in a hug. Sam was panting like he had run a marathon, holding Tommy against his chest. The blonde was shocked to feel tears soaking through his shirt. "Sam?"

"Holy shit, I thought I lost you." Sam gripped his shirt tighter, afraid he might disappear. Sam pulled back, looking into his blue eyes. "You gave me a heart attack! You were no where to be found and I-I thought... I-" he pulled Tommy into another hug.

Guilt washed over Tommy. He thought he would return before Sam would notice. He wrapped his arms around Sam, apologizing, "I'm sorry Sam... I thought I would be back in time."

"I thought... Oh God I-" Sam shook his head, unable to finish his sentence.

"I'm still here Sam, I'm not going anywhere."
