Techno POV

Techno could hardly believed everything that had happened. Dream had actually been beaten. And no one had died. That was two impossibilities that somehow weaved together.

They walked a ways into the forest to ensure they were far away from the Dream Team. Techno was the one who broke silence, finally speaking his mind. "Were you following us after you supposedly left?"

Phil ran a hand through his hair, confessing, "I didn't want to leave you two on your own."

"We were fine before we met you." Techno pointed out harshly.

"Are you forgetting who saved us?" Wilbur glared at his brother. He turned to the man, smiling, "Thank you for saving us. We're both very grateful."

Phil grinned, "I actually did have something to return to you. Or at least, make sure you got." He paused before moving towards a large bush. There in the leaves, lay an old guitar.

"My guitar!" the brunette exclaimed, rushing forward and grabbing it. He inspected every part of the wood, making sure it was okay.

"I found it at your old campsite, thought I would return it to you."

"Thanks!" Wilbur said gratefully, quickly slinging it over his shoulder. He paused, like he was straining his ears to hear something. "Do you hear that?"

Techno and Phil exchanged looks, stopping to listen for anything that would perk their interest. Sure enough, their eyes widened at the sound of quiet sobbing. Who was out in the middle of the woods?

The trio slowly began to make their way towards the sound, stopping every so often to make sure they were headed in the right direction. Wilbur was the first one to catch sight of the boy.

The boy couldn't have been older than sixteen. With long blonde hair and ripped clothes, Techno couldn't imagine what the boy had been through. But he was going to find out as Wilbur began approaching him.
