Hi! This is a book I made a while back but haven't released yet. Every chapter is about 10 normal pages. Some chapters will have more pages and others less.

I will put a word count on every chapter as well as I will put warnings up for every chapter as there might be sensitive topics throughout the story. This could as an example be smut.

Warning!: swearing, angst, violence, death

Enjoy!

"Marco, you're home?" Noah asked, surprised to see his once best friend.

"Yeah, they sent me home to take a break," Marco said with an awkward smile. Noah fully opened the front door to let the other in.

They met in a quick hug. Noah felt Marco's strong arms squeeze him unintentionally tightly.

He smiled softly when pulling away and asked:

"What's really going on, Marco?" knowing that they never hugged.

It was winter outside and the cold tried to replace itself with the warmth inside the small apartment.

"Nothing," Marco lied and stepped inside. "They sent me on vacation."

Noah closed the door. He knew his friend was lying but didn't ask any further.

After a few minutes in silence as Marco made his way further into the house he spoke.

"So, how are you doing?" Marco asked to break their silence. They hadn't seen each other in almost two days. Two days wasn't a long time, but they did live together, meaning Noah felt it was a long time.

They saw each other every day but rarely talked if they had to be honest. They once had. They had been best friends for years. They had helped each other in school and when the time came to find a job.

Noah worked as a doctor. He had always dreamed of helping people. Marco dreamed of the same but chose the military instead.

Marco hadn't been there long before he quit. After his first war mission, he had tried to avoid another mission like that ever since.

Noah had operated on many people. He had mostly worked with broken bones and ran multiple kinds of tests as well as interpreted them. He also prescribed many kinds of medicine and treatments. He takes a lot of notes on his patient's conditions and advises them on how to stay healthy and if they need further treatment. But he also does so much more than that.

"I'm doing good. The job is going well but kind of feel lonely when you're not here," Noah answered.

"It's only two days, Noah," Marco said. "You are doing fine on your own."

"Yeah, I've been doing fine without you," Noah said with a hint of anger. He turned on the TV. Some pretty woman was talking about the weather soon to talk about what all of Europe had thought of all their storms and shifts in weather.

Noah was more of a soft boy while Marco was somewhat the opposite, they both had agreed on that long ago.

Marco had so many times, he couldn't even count how many, protected Noah in school. Noah had always been the nerd getting the highest scores in the class. People had mocked him for it. Even beat Noah up for it. But Marco had always been there protecting him. It mostly ended up with both lying on the floor.

But in the last few years of school, it had turned. Marco had started training, running, and taking martial art lessons.

The bullies had left Noah alone because of Marco. But sometimes they couldn't hold themselves back. It hadn't been long before Marco would have noticed it and it always ended with Noah having a scratch or two while Marco was left with blood and blue, red, and yellow marks. But Marco had still won though. He always won.
