Everything was going according to plan. The operations and the war.

The ponnarrians came to help. They fought alongside the males and the number of asperas decreased.

The humans were told that the asperas showed more intelligence than ever. They were stronger that way.

Nadian had taken Tekku's words about esyrs to him. He ordered a few of his men to tame the wild beasts.

As for now they only had one adult female on their side and about twenty children. The children couldn't fight but they could tell the difference between aspera and cannarrian.

The eldest children were used in the war and the others were used on the teams before and after they were sent out.

A lot of asperas tried to get in that way. They disguised themselves as one of the fallen warriors and then blended in with the rest of 'his' team.

After two months one of the queens finally fell in battle. It was going the right way but too slow. They were losing countless warriors every day.

That meant the commanders soon had to fight with the warriors again.

Bewo didn't hide his fear away from Marco. He didn't want to go to war. He didn't want to be on the battlefield and get killed in the first few minutes.

The two brothers feared even more when their fellow son-of-a-commander Liack had been brutally killed. He had been promoted to commander too. He was ripped to pieces because he didn't want to wait to fight the enemy. He had been too confident in himself. Asperas are much more dangerous than you might think.

The brown cannarrian, Elke, and the yellow cannarrian, Pealee, that had done Marco wrong were dead too.

A lot of high ranked were dead. There weren't many to walk the hallways as there once had been.

One day Meldow came home and had barely survived. He had broken and bent bones of asperas trying to squeeze him to death.

Dejal was still healing... or he couldn't really heal but he didn't get worse. He didn't catch any illnesses and his wounds have been treated about twenty times a day to keep him from getting inflammation.

Dejal kept himself isolated when healers weren't trying to heal him.

Dejal kept having open wounds. The healers were lucky they could stop the bleeding but the cannarrian was still at high risk of dying. Dejal knew that.

He wanted to go out and live now that he was this close to dying but he knew that if he go out he will surely die of sickness.

He can be with no one but the healers for his own safety.

Maybe a few cannarrians if he wanted to risk it but no matter what he wasn't allowed a visit from the humans.

It made sense now that they were a different species and could still carry sickness with them that would end up killing Dejal.
