Here they were. Slender's proxies and his brothers including Jeff in his office.

They all look at the stressed-out Slender that was clicking his pen and was clearly afraid that a mortal might expose their secret.

"So, what are you exactly thinking? Cause I don't think killing the mortal will do us any good." Offender says breaking the silence.

"Why not?" Jeff asks.

"We can just end her, burn any evidence, and get rid of anything about her. That easy."

"It's not as easy Jeff. Like you said she's a reporter. For a report like this, she has contacts and knows people. The moment she goes missing everyone will be looking for her." Hoodie points out,

"That's right." Slender says finally saying something.

He gets up and looks at everyone.

"Jeff, you and the proxies will be watching her, as for you three." He says turning to his brothers.

"Also watch over her. You three can just use your mortal forms to watch her." He tells his brothers.

"Ok, but how will that make her not find out?" Splendor asks.

"Yeah, she will keep on working." Trender reasons

"Correct, but here's the thing. Jeff and my proxies will be watching her from afar while she's doing her work, however, you three will see the action up close. As soon as we see she's hitting too close to home...."

"What will you do?" Splendor asks his brother.

"Finish her like we have finished everyone else." He says exiting his office with a slight smirk.

Catalina heads to the cafe like she did the day prior while waiting in line she's too busy reading down what she wrote on her notepad, that she doesn't notice two men watching her.

She goes upfront and orders her latte, as she's about to pay someone stops her.

"I will pay." The man says handing his credit card with a soft smile.

Catalina looks up and finds a tall man with glasses, a brown sweater, and black pants smiling at her. His card is swiped and he smiles at the young woman.

"Um...thank you."

"No problem, my name is Trevor." He says stretching out his hand.

"Catalina." She says shaking his hand.

"That's a nice name." The other man says.

"This is my brother Liam."

"Nice to meet you!" He says happily.

Catalina shakes her hand and is given her drink.

"So, what brings someone like you to this part?" Trevor asks.

"Oh, um my work. I'm a journalist."

"Well, it was nice meeting you. See you around sometime?"

"Sure." She tells Trevor smiling.

"Well...gotta go. Bye, and thank you for the drink again." She says leaving and heading to her office.

Both man exit the cafe and see her head to her office.

"Why didn't we ask for a phone number, Tren? Plus, come on?! Liam!"

"Cause if we do it will feel too fast, Splendor. We need to take our time to win her trust. Plus, Liam so fits you!" Trender says looking back at the office.

"Plus, look, we now know who she exactly works for." Trender points out.

-----------------------------------------------------

They kept on doing this. Each morning they would meet up with Catalina, and eventually, Offender came into the game too as "Aaron".

They slowly started knowing more about her life, and even how far she was getting. Which thankfully wasn't that far. She was only talking to the victim's families and that's it. However, there was something she knew, and they could tell.

They needed her to trust them, fully.

-----------------------------------------------------

Here she was. In the so-called, "hell-hole".

Why was Catalina here? Seeing and taking pictures of another crime scene. She took a picture of the bloody handprint on the tree bark and keeps on looking around.

Meanwhile, the one and only feared Slenderman was walking to the scene as he felt a presence in his forest. He camouflages between the trees and looks out only to be dumbfounded. As he looks he finds a very beautiful woman. He admires how her long black hair bounces as she walks, how her leggings fit her curves perfectly, and not to mention how her brown eyes make him fall deeply in fascination.

He sees how she pulls a strand of hair behind her ear and stretches only to reveal her midriff.  He admires her closely and all of a sudden her phone rings.

"Hi, hello Catalina talking."

He snaps and is left shocked that she was the one and only "Catalina". She walks away and Slender is left staring at her. He sees her getting in her car and driving off. He has seen many women before, and many that look similar to her, but he has NEVER felt this way.

What's different about her? He thought to himself.
