"y/n, what were you even thinking?" mikasa asked, as soon as you were alone in your room.
you knew that after you came out of the forest, it was just a matter of time before mikasa would scold you about your actions.
"you shouldn't have gone into the forest! what if you had died?"
"eren was in danger!" you said, staring at her.
"eren would have been saved by the shorty, anyway"
"you don't know that!"
"y/n, when will you realize that there are consequences to your actions?"
"nothing happened!"
"you were nearly squished to death!"
you stayed silent, because you knew that she was right.
"stop being careless and so obsessed with saving and protecting eren! others can do that, too!" she said, as she sat next to you and placed a hand on your shoulder.
"i can't do that! i promised her" you replied, pushing her hand away before you left.
you walked out the room and went near the stairs to sit down. you hugged your knees closer to your chest, and buried your face in your scarf. it was late evening and the sky would soon turn into its darker colors.
"what's up?"
"nothing" you said, looking at the boy by your side.
"sure..."
"eren, have you been crying?"
"we failed..." he said, voice soft.
you stayed silent, your eyes locked on the ground in front of you.
"why did you save me again?"
"because you were in danger"
"don't risk your life for me, y/n!"
"what's the point then?"
"what do you mean?"
"what's the point if i don't risk my life?"
he stayed silent for a moment, before he placed a hand on your head and softly ruffled your hair. you turned to look at him, your cheeks inviting the pink hue again.
"even if you're younger, you have way more guts than all of us! that's admirable!" he said, smiling at you.
you smiled softly and looked at him, as he removed his hand from your head.
"so, why are you out here alone?" he asked, as he moved his body closer to yours.
