you were in the azumabito building- a gun in your hands, as you stood by jean's and hange's side. floch managed to escape and inform everyone that you had betrayed eldia, resulting to the yeagerists attacking you.
you were in the hallway near the stairs, when you saw some of them pointing their guns at the azumabito men. you, hange and magath shot at them, making holes in their heads and bodies.
you took them to the basement, mikasa checking the surroundings for the rest of the yeagerists. you knelt on the stairs of the basement, pointing your gun towards the smoke the thunder spears created.
"we'd be cornered in the basement! it'd only be a matter of time until they kill us!" kiyomi said.
"trust me. as long as we're safe... they can run wild" magath answered.
"so... how long will it take for the flying boat to take off?" you asked, eyes focused in front of you.
"a day" a man replied.
"what did you just say...?" hange asked, as all of you looked at him.
"i said... we typically need a full day of maintenance work to prepare the flying boat before it can take off... with all the necessary facilities... we could try to do it in half a day"
"half a day? you're asking us to defend this place for half a day?!" magath questioned.
"the enemy will send in wave after wave of reinforcements... the titan's powers only last a few hours... we can't hold the harbor that long!" he added.
"we were too late..." you said, your voice coming out shaky.
"the pace of the rumbling... it's faster than a galloping horse. not only that... they can ignore any obstacles and keep marching in half a day..." hange said.
"the land flattened by titans would stretch from the shoreline to about six hundred kilometers inland... it will probably only take four days for them to trample the entire continent"
your eyes widened at their words, unable to believe the fast pace of the rumbling.
"even if our best-laid plans succeed in stopping eren... it'd already be too late for liberio..." hange added.
"no..." jean breathed out, in denial.
"even if we got the ship flying... we don't know where eren is. locating him will add even more time. of course... holding out here for half a day in the first place is impossible" magath commented.
"i have an idea" kiyomi started.
"there's a hangar owned by the azumabito south of here, in the coastal marleyan city of odiha. it should be possible to service the flying boat there"
