the familiar yellow light appeared again- but this time, it was eren who transformed. before you knew it, eren's titan was covered in the same light blue crystal and new smaller pillars were created.
'he did it! he hardened his skin!'
you waited some time for him to get out, but nothing happened. you didn't know if you were allowed to go and get him out yourself, so you waited to hear the orders.
"sasha, connie! search for an exit from the right side!"
"mikasa! you go from the left side"
"jean, y/n! you get eren out"
"yes, sir!"
all of you scattered around and went to your positions. standing on the neck of eren's titan, you took your sword out and -along with jean- started breaking the hardened skin. once the head of the boy came into view, his name rolled off your tongue softly.
before you were able to break more skin, he got out- breaking it himself. you put your sword back to its place, and pulled eren completely away from his titan. you and jean carried him to the ground, some meters away from levi.
"we've secured an exit!" sasha's voice echoed in the room.
you sighed in relief at her words and turned to look at eren. you watched as he stared at the light blue skeleton in front of him, his teal eyes sparkling slightly.
"is this..."
"yes. it hardened" levi said, coming into view- along with historia.
"we cut you out of this titan, but it hasn't disappeared. i'd say this is pretty big news" he added.
"oh...!! where's that bottle?! i happened to drink from this bottle labeled "armor", and when i turned into a titan..." eren started.
"we found rod reiss' bag, but..." historia interrupted him, showing the only part that existed from the destroyed bag.
"everything else in the bag, along with the other containers that flew out of it... either were crushed or evaporated. there's nothing left" she explained.
levi's voice was becoming more distant, as you walked farther away from eren- keeping enough distance between you and him. your eyes, though, never left the boy's figure. he looked deep in thought and for a moment you wondered if he had remembered anything else.
eren raised his head abruptly and looked around, his eyes landing on your form.
"can i talk with y/n?" you heard his voice echo.
your eyes slightly widened and you walked closer, since levi motioned you to.
