time had stopped as you stared at reiner who was on his feet. there was no way the six of you would be able to deal with both of them. your body was already exhausted and all you wanted was to guarantee everyone's safety. you didn't even know if eren was awake, or what was happening outside the wall.
had most of them survived from the flying rocks? had they moved the horses to safety? was commander and levi safe? was the enemy defeated? and what about hange and their squad? where were they? did they die because of the explosion?
those and millions of others questions filled your mind, yet they couldn't be answered. not yet.
"the colossal titan. he's gotten... a little skinnier" armin pointed out.
"it's just like hange said! the colossal titan really is susceptible to a drawn-out battle!" he continued, turning his head to look at you, mikasa and jean.
"think back to the experiments with eren. he could only transform up to three times in a row and he could only harden his entire body twice. once he reached those limits, his power would begin to taper off. he wasn't able to use any of his abilities effectively"
"so if that's the case for a fifteen-meter titan, a sixty-meter titan should be even less efficient at using its energy. the colossal titan used a sustained heat attack when reiner and bertholdt revealed themselves, but... he had to consume all the flesh on his body to create that heat. all that was left were his bones. he won't be able to move once he loses his muscle fibers. he'll be nothing more than a giant skeleton" he explained.
you looked at him, your eyes slightly widening in realization; armin had finally come up with a plan.
"you work to draw reiner away! eren and i will defeat the colossal! the two of us... will be able to do it" he said.
you got up, a small smile forming on your lips.
"fine. leave reiner to us" mikasa said.
"now you figure it out, stupid...? you had me convinced that it was all over for us..." jean said, smiling softly at the blond boy.
the three of you ran towards the direction of the armored titan, while armin headed to the colossal. you trusted the boy, but you were still scared for his safety. you landed on the roof sasha and connie were on and informed them about the situation.
"our only job is to keep reiner away from those two! fly around close enough to him that it'll draw his attention!" jean said.
you all did as he ordered, but reiner ignored you as he kept running towards bertholdt. you clicked your tongue and turned around, following him.
"y/n?!"
"we'll just have to kill him!" you said, looking at your older sister for a second.
you fired your thunder spear at the back of his knee, making him lose his balance and fall to the ground.
