Maya was out running. When she couldn't sleep at night, she went out to stretch her legs. It also helped her think.

She was having a hard time with the loss of Pruitt, and since his death, she was questioning a lot of things.

How could her captain be more of a father to her than her own father? How could she deceive Carina, for the simple and 'good' reason that she had seen right in him, without ever having met him?

Fortunately for this last point, Carina had finally forgiven her, when the blonde had come to apologize at the Grey Sloan memorial and had revealed her feelings.

/Flashback/

- "Carina"

- "What do you want from me?"

- "I'm an idiot, you were right, I was abused, my father was abusive. But that's no excuse for what I did to you. Please, please, please take me back. I love you and I've never said that about anyone but my brother, so it must mean something. I love you Carina. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, please forgive me."

- "oh my God, forgive her" said her friend Teddy

- "ooooh!!!"

- "sorry!" Said the surgeon

- "she cheated on me with her ex-boyfriend and you threw it in my face, just to hurt me. And what am I supposed to do now? I'm supposed to forgive you? I'm supposed to trust you?"

-“i don't know..but i'm ok spending the rest of my life trying to convince you to" Maya looked with her eyes injected of tears in the hazel eyes of the Italian sublime in front of her.

- "Forgive her" said Teddy.

- "oooh!" Carina answered him

- "I'm sorry, I'm sorry but if you love hee, forgive her"

Carina hesitated, the more she looked at Maya, vulnerable, the more she told herself she didn't really have a choice. She was madly in love with the blonde in front of her.

- "I... I... I love you Maya... Arghhh!... Come and kiss me"

She still had a little twinge of guilt when she thought of that moment. She was so relieved that Carina had been able to forgive her. But she felt terrible, that she had to do it. Not apologize, but the reason for her forgiveness.

Tonight it was something else that bothered her. After the altercation with her father, when she was in intervention in a university in front of all her colleagues, firefighter, police officer,... She had finally opened her eyes on him.

This revelation had made her change her mind about a lot of things, including the fact that she had cheated on Carina, when Carina had seen right through it. This was, in her eyes, the biggest mistake of her life.

A few months after getting back together with Carina, she had finally confronted her father. Tonight, she was running with the thought that it was only three weeks ago.
