But I have loved someone with all my heart, with all my soul. And, for me, that is enough to fill a life'.

The days went by and they were the same, Maya was visited by her friends and some doctors, nurses, that she knew from the emergency room.
She obviously had doctors from several departments who came to see her to find out about her progress, orthopedics, neurology,...
Maya, equal to herself, was flirting with men and women she didn't know, or whose existence she had forgotten.
They all knew that she was engaged to Dr. DeLuca, but played along with her so as not to arouse her suspicions.
From time to time, her friends would take her out of the room and walk her down the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial.
Carina had kept her promise to Dr. Shepherd, she wouldn't come to see Maya, at least not when she was awake. She had stopped sleeping with her, so that the blonde wouldn't find her in her room when she didn't remember her. However, as soon as Maya was sedated, to sleep, she would come, take her hand, talk to her, tell her their story.
This morning it was Dr. Lincoln who had come to see her.
- "hello Maya"
- "Dr. Lincoln"
- "please call me Link"
- "it works"
- "so how are you today?"
-"I came out of the coma five days ago. I'm still not allowed to get up by myself, go to the bathroom by myself, take a shower... It's pretty frustrating."
- "Maya you lost muscle mass during your coma, this is quite normal"
-"Yes, but that's the problem! I need to go to the gym, I need to get back into shape as soon as possible!"
- "It doesn't work like that...does your leg still hurt? And your wrist? And your ribs?"
- "It's okay..."
- "what if I stop the sedatives?"
-"I won a gold medal at the Olympics with a sprained ankle. I think I can survive this. Especially since, from what I understand, the hardest part is over. I saw pictures, you had made me Robocop, I had screws and all this stuff on the outside of my leg..."
-"Yes, I took it out because your bones had started to knit together in the right position. But I put you back behind a maintenance boot. It wasn't completely neat. And anyway, right now it's impossible for you to walk.
- "why is that?"
-"your body has to learn to do certain things again, like walking, nerves have been severed in your legs and so your body has to learn to make a new neural connection so that you can walk again".
-"I think ... I did not understand everything... But you are the doctor".
-"We are going to do a very simple exercise. Lift your leg" Maya lifted her left leg which had not been broken. "no, your other leg" Maya lifted both her legs at the same time, with some difficulty but still managing to do it. "I didn't ask you to lift both your legs, only your injured leg"
Maya said "easy" before resting both legs on the mattress and trying to lift her leg.
- "without resting your other leg on the mattress, lift your leg as if you were doing a stretching exercise. You don't use your other leg for this type of exercise... Well, here you have to do the same. Lift your injured leg, without helping yourself with the other one, without pressing all your weight on the mattress to give a feeling of elevation, you are not a magician and I am not five years old."
