Maya didn't realize how much she missed having a mother. They had never been that close, Maya belonged to Lane and Mason to Katherine. There had never been any paperwork or affirmation of this but it was unspoken.

And yet since Friday, since Katherine had been at their house, Maya had felt old wounds from the past trying to heal.

Today she had to go back to work, but she didn't mind, she knew her mother was safe, her brother was safe, and her wife was safe. She didn't know for how long, but right now all four of them were.

- "What time should I pick you up?"

-"What time do you get off?" Maya asked.

-"I finish at the time you need me to finish bambina".

-"Can I pick up my soon-to-be wife?" Asked Carina who was in need of a moment alone with the blonde.

-"I'm technically your wife already... around... 6pm?"

- "6pm sounds good. And Bambina, please don't be rash. You only have two days to work."

- "I'm assigned to the office today, Sullivan is going to be there, Andy my guest... I don't think I have a choice."

-"I don't want to leave you", said the Italian woman, bringing her face close to her wife's and kissing her.

-"You can always come to the clinic today..."

- "it's not a day of clinic and on top of that I have work"

- "Don't you want to be a firefighter ? I'll take you to station 19, you'll be the hottest firefighter in the world" she said, squinting slightly and staring at the steering wheel.

-"Can you imagine me as a firefighter ?" Carina asked, bringing her mouth to her ear.

-"Yes" said the blonde with a huge smile on her face.

-"You know I can just... borrow your clothes..."

- "I still remember the first time I saw you in my station 19 shirt..."

-"Which time?"

- "both times..." She said, coming out of her trance-like state. "Carina?!"

-"Maya?!" She said in the same tone.

- "Would you do me the honor of wearing my outfit?"

-"Would you do me the honor of letting me slip into your pants..." Made she by leaning again above the armrest to come to caress of her nose the jaw of the blonde.

- "you practice it is not possible. You can't have so many repartee and phrase, sexy like that from the touch."

- "no, you just inspire me a lot..." She replied, now running her teeth against her jaw.

- "and I'm going to go before I get lost with you in that car in front of the barracks"

- "too bad I like to get lost with you and find you..."

The blonde had just responded with a grunt of frustration before leaving the car.

They had both left for work and in the evening Carina had arrived at ten o'clock sharp.
