A few days had passed since the nightclub party. Lauren had left as quickly as she had arrived and Carina had forgiven Maya. Maya, after making a few bandages, had regained full use of her hand.

The captain was about to have her one-on-one interview with McCallister and she was very focused on preparing for it. She knew that he may not have approved of Sullivan moving her on without her passing the incinerator test, especially since she was young and a woman.

She wanted to show him that despite her long absence, she had worked hard and wanted to take the opportunity to review all the complicated cases that the barracks had had over the past year.

That's why she had been neglecting her future wife for a few days. No more attention, no more sex, nothing.
