movies and chill

after the incident Emma sat curled next to ray ensuring he was calm before jumping up snd grsbbing the tv remote to put a film on. She saw Ray trying to take it from her so lifted her arm out of his reach huffing when he put an arm in that wrist, her face blushing madly as he slightly leaned over, and used his other hand to grab the remote.

"That's unfair you're taller then me"

"Height has nothing to do with it, you enjoyed me leaning over you"

She gently punched his chest "stop being so right about everything"

"Sure so what did you want to watch?"

"A certain film but I wanted to surprise you with it"

Ray nodded and passed Emma the remote, facing away from the TV while she searched and started the film, turning back when she tapped his shoulder. The two sat in silence as the film came on, Emma curled into Ray again. They would occasionally say a few things to each other before going silent again.

The film started to finish and Emma grabbed her phone to check the time noticing the date.

"Shhittttt"

"What's wrong Emma?"

"It's you birthday tomorrow and I haven't got anything planned!"

"That doesn't bother me, if we treat it like it's not my birthday or do either way I'm not fussed"

"Yes but that's not going to be special! I want to do something special"

"I know you did but I'm happy without anything big. Honestly and this is probably bad for me to say but kinda hoped everyone forgot"

"Oh- but still Ray come on we have to do something at least"

"If it makes you feel better nothing can be worse then my birthday two years ago"

"True true. Fine if you're so sure"

"Mhm"

She sighed giving in to Ray, he could tell she was still bothered by it so got up. She gave him a confused look before following. He walked downstairs having to avoid being ran into by the younger kids. Ray walked with Emma to spot he showed her earlier on.

"I know it's dark out so after we should go rest but look there's a beach just over there. Why don't we all go there as a group? That's the something special for you and the 'it's a normal day' for me"

"Sure!" She smiled at him giving him a kiss before racing inside, joining in on the game with the younger kids. Ray watched her with a slight chuckle, he watched Jemima walk over to him so lowered himself to see her better. He smiled slightly when she gently held him wanting to be held so he lifted her noticing her falling asleep so stayed still enough so she could but moving enough she knew he wasn't going anywhere. Emma saw this from the corner of her eye and watched in awe before being tackled by Lannion and Thoma.

Ray watched this scene and laughed a little seeing them charge at him before stopping seeing he was holding Jemima.

"Awe that's unfair, I wanted to tackle you for laughing at Emma"

"I was actually laughing at you dumbass"

"Thoma don't do it"

"But he called me a dumbass"

"He calls everyone that and also if you hurt Jemima you'll anger him and Emma so"

"Ugh fine"

Ray gave off a victorious smirk seeing Emma walked over to him still looking in awe.

"I'm going to head bed. Night ray"

"Night Emma"

She went to give him a kiss and he gave her a look of "not yet" so she nodded and carefully checked on Jemima to make it not look weird. After a few minutes Ray decided to get her to her bed so walked off to get her settled grabbing her plush on the way to settle her with. He placed her down and tucked her in before walking off to his own room to get some sleep.
