"I heard you met my brother last night." Ji-woo was burping Nabi when you arrived the next morning.

She was wearing her expensive looking cobalt blue blouse and light colored pants, risking spit up all over herself. Somehow she looked elegant and not at all destined to be splotchy with baby goo like you ended up each day.

"Yes he snuck up on me while I was getting her down for her evening nap." You laid your sweater on one of the rocking chairs and began your morning routine of replenishing diapers and wipes and gathering a load of laundry.

"He said you seemed very relaxed and apathetic to meeting him." She patted the baby's back swiping a cloth across her dribbling mouth, you noticed something in how she said it but chose to ignore it.

"Oh? I guess I was just focused on our sweet girl." You smiled, but really you wanted to laugh.

Back in your apartment you'd flopped onto your bed and screamed into your pillow. You'd been next to Jung Hoseok, he'd touched you, you'd watched him play with his niece and bounce her in his arms. Armys would give anything for that experience and it had been just normal domestic moment for you.

"Y/N?" Ji-woo broke your concentration from where you were digging through a basket of soft toys to clean.

"Hmm?" You turned toward her meeting her eyes, the way she said your name was gentle but clearly she wanted you to pay attention.

"Hoseokie is nice, kind even, but he's also," she looked away as Nabi started coughing, "he's also selfish." She looked back you as the baby calmed.

"He seemed pretty good with Nabi." You shrugged, completely aware of what her tone was implying but confused at the same time.

"He's wonderful with her, sees her every weekend he's in town. Visits every few days if he can. I'm not talking about him being selfish with her." There was frustration in her words and you decided to let her off the hook.

"I want this job far more than I want anything with Jung Hoseok." You smiled at her but his words as you'd departed rang in your ears. 'With Nabi.'

The more you'd replayed his sentence, his pointed pause, his smirk, you knew it had been an intentional flirtation. The question you couldn't seem to answer was did he do this with everyone or had he liked what he'd seen in you?

"He's charming, I've seen plenty of girls over the years swoon right into flings with him. He'll never be serious, he doesn't know what he wants and he's going to sample every option until he does. You are amazing with Nabi, I would hate for you to leave with your feelings hurt." She'd laid the baby on a blanket on the floor, tummy time was her favorite, Nabi was already kicking her feet like crazy.

"I know what I want, and it's not a careless fling. Don't worry about me!" You closed the distance and squeezed her shoulder reassuringly before plucking the burping cloth from her hand.

"Girls a lot tougher than you have fallen in love with him but I can't tell you what to do in your free time. I'm just warning you. I love him a lot, but I think the world perceives him as utterly harmless and a warm beam of sunlight." She shrugged not finishing her thought but you finished it in your head.

Would getting burned by J-Hope be the worst thing you'd ever experienced?

"I'm going to start this laundry then I'll come back for her if you're  going to be in here another ten minutes?" When she nodded you slipped out before your face gave your curiosity away.

For two long weeks you didn't see J-Hope, the first couple days you'd been hyper aware, always looking for him. After that you tried to convince yourself it had been a fluke, Ji-woo and her mother had simply needed his help, you weren't going to cross paths with him often.
