Chapter 8

Manik's pov

I grabbed my files and laptop after brunch and also a novel from Nandini's room till she picked a series to watch for us. I walked downstairs and saw her setting up pillows and blankets on the couch

"Babe what are you doing" I asked

"Cuddles" she said in a baby voice making em smile

I sat down and she put her head on my chest, placing her hand on my abs she laid down and put on her series. I wrapped my arms around her pulling her closer getting comfortable in the blankets

"I love you" she mumbled

"I love you more" I said pecking her lips

she moved her hands under my t shirt and caressed my stomach while watching the movie, her focus was on the tv so I knew she wasn't doing it on purpose

Whatever it was, I love this girl to bits, she is the only one who can handle a monster like me, I still remember when she was 10 and I was 15, when cabir ran away with her and I asked him to stay at my place but he refused.

We didnt see each other for a long time then one day I got a call from a random number and it was him, he asked if he could leave nandini with me for a little bit and of course I said yes so he dropped her off at my house

FLASHBACK

"Thanks manik, I really appreciate it, I have a night shift and I cannot leave her alone at night" he said

"Its okay man, I am here for you two, is there anything I need to know" I asked him

"If she gets fussy just give her chocolate" he said making me laugh

"Sounds good" I said and looked at nandini who was peaking from behind cabir

"Hi" I mummbled and she held his t shirt tighter

"Doll, he is manik remember, stay with him, he will not do anything" he explained to her

"Pakka" she asked and he nodded

"I will come in the morning okay, here is your night clothes and stay with manik okay don't leave his sight even for a second" he explained squatting down to her and she nodded

"I will miss you bhai" she said with tears in her eyes

"Bhai will miss you too doll, but see manik has a tv and you will not even realize how long I have been gone" he said and she nodded

"I will be a good girl" she said sniffling

"You are my good girl doll" he kissed her forehead while she kisses his forehead

She walked to me hesitantly and held my hand making me smile, "I got her cabir don't worry" I said and he nodded

Once he left, I saw nandini standing there with teary eyes, her tiny little hands were holding onto my hands.

"Hi baby" I said and she didnt reply

"Lets go set you up in your room" I said and she nodded walking with me

"Let me take that" I said seeing the bag was a little heavy fro her.

Since I lived alone well with servants it was easy to have her be here at any time. I took her to the room beside mine and showed her around but she didnt utter anything

"Do you wanna eat" I asked and she shook her head

"When was the last time you ate" I asked

"Breakfast" she mummbled

"Then we have to eat Nandini" I said taking her to the kitchen

"Kya khaogi" I asked and she looked up at me

"Kuch ni"

"Nandini beta kuch toh khana padega" I said and tears filled her eyes again

"No don't cry, acha Maggie khaogi" I asked and her eyes twinkled a little as she pouted

"Kaka Maggie bata do" I said and he nodded

A few minutes later when the Maggie was ready I took her to my room. I placed the Maggie on my bed and she pouted

"Can I put you on the bed too" I asked and she nodded putting her arms to me

I picked her up and sat her on the bed, I had to feed her because she wouldn't touch it, but when I fed her she ate happily. I put n the tv for her and she was giggling and laughing seeing the tv

"Beta go brush" I said and she nodded

She scouted down from the bed and ran to her room to brush, I walked to her room after a little bit after knocking

"Off to sleep" I said and she nodded

She laid down, I covered her with blankets and turned her lights off

"No don't go" she siad holding my hand

"Why"

"No please" she mummbled

I sat beside her, with her hold my hand and I just looked around until she fell a sleep, I felt her grip on my arm lossen so I took my arm our of her hold and closing the door I walked to my room

I was just watching tv when my door was kicked open and in ran nandini holding her pillow. She had tears in her eyes making me feel hurt.

"What's wrong" I asked

"You are a monster" she yelled in my face

"Im sorry what"

"Monster, you left me alone, all alone what if a monster under the bed got me" she said with quivering lips

"But I am monster right so which monster is under the bed" I asked

"Nooo monster you left me" she cried making me sigh

"Come up here" I said and she closed the door hoping up on the bed

"Im sorry okay, I didnt know you can't sleep alone" I siad putting her pillow beside me

"You are a monster" she mummbled wiping her tears

"Im sorry baba, im here now how about you sleep" I said and she shook her head

"You will leave again"

"I won't I promise"

"Nandini and manik promise" she asked shocking me

"Nandini and manik promise" I said and she nodded

"Close your eyes" I said and she slid under the covers beside me

"You won't go" she asked again and I shook my head

She looked at the tv and put her head on my shoulder holding my hand. A few minutes later she fell a sleep and snuggled into me like a baby. I didnt sleep much that night because I wanted to make sure she was okay.

FLASHBACK OVER

That was the first day she called me monster and lets just say it continued from then, somehow her and I couldn't stand each other till 4 years ago. We would argue over everything and anything but when there was a time when I needed no one not even cabir somehow she was there

She held me in my worst and hoesntly I couldn't have asked for anyone better, when we started dating it was so new but we never stopped arguing. I mean to this day we have our regular argument mostly related to work but ya.

I looked down and saw her a sleep in my arms, this has been constant for us. Whenever we hang out she always sleeps on me and I love that. Even when we were little she did that, when cabir and her moved here, she would sit on her window for hours looking in my room so she doesnt get scared

She still does it, she will look in my room for me every time cabir said something to her becasue she knows I am not home at that moment which is why I got her softy so she can cuddle him when she misses me.

I grabbed my laptop so I could finish my pending work when she is still sleeping. A few hours later she stirred in her sleep so I knew she was gonna wake up so I put my laptop away.
