Chapter 18

I walked upstairs and reaching her room, I put her on the bed and she cuddled with softy. I swear sometimes I'm jealous of a god damn stuffed toy that I bought for her like hell man. I laid down next to her and as soon as I did she wrapped her arms around me leaving softy

I turned the tv on and put on a show, I knew she wouldn't wake up because she is a heavy sleeper.

'Come up, lets watch a show unless ya'll wanna do some funny business then to each their own my friends' I texted cabir

A few minutes later they both came up with snacks in their hands, even for Nandini even though she is a sleep.

"The fuck did you text me" he sort of yelled but not really

"If she wakes up, im throwing this at your face" I said lifting the remote

"She is a heavy sleeper" he said grinning

He laid down beside me and Navya laid down beside cabir so now Nandini was on the edge. One thing about Nandini is, she hates sleeping on the edge of the bed. When she sleeps alone she sleeps right smack in the middle with pillows on either side of her

When she sleeps with me like last night she will sleep talking up almost all the bed. She is so tiny but damn when she sleeps with me she is either cuddled to me or taking up the whole bed.

"Dude stop staring at her, she is sleeping" cabir said making me realize I was caressing her cheek staring

"I like staring at her, she seems peaceful when she sleeps"

"Slep also looks peaceful when she is watching tv" Navya said laughing and I knew what she meant so I laughed too

There was this time where we were watching tv, well a criminal horror show and Nandini was either biting her nails or yelling at the tv. She is an anxious little human but I love her to bits.

"So about the Shimla thing, should we book the flights soon" I asked

"Umm ya I asked my pa to book tickets already for Tuesday" jeez that's so soon, its in 2 days

"Dude did you get 4" I asked and he nodded

"I already know you won't leave her alone anymore now that you have my blessing" he teased

"Oh shut up" I said and he laughed

"Thank you dude, thank you for accepting us. I wouldn't have been able to live without her" I spoke caressing her hair

"She cannot live without you either and you very well know that"

"What happened that night cabir" I asked

He froze and Navya grabbed his arm, im thinking to tell him she is here, becasue Nandini does that for me too

"I umm, I don't know Manik" he spoke

"What do you mean"

"It was the day after I left her with you, a few days after her 16th birthday" I nodded smiling remembering every time she was with me and the tiny arguments we had even though we were little

"I had an evening shift, one of the last ones before I was coming here and joining your company. Nandini would come home on time and then get sheela aunty to call me so she could tell me she was going to the park with aunty and some kids from the neighbourhood. The same thing happened that day, she called and told me she was going and then I got busy with work as usual. Around 9ish at night I got a call from sheela aunty and she said nadnini just came back but had blood all over her arms, she had bruises and marks" he told me and my mind went to the worst thing
