Hwaa (Soojin x Fem Reader)

Part 30

Author's POV
Two weeks had passed since the police took the dirtied piece of fabric to their lab to get it tested for any DNA that could possibly be on it.

Soojin had barely gotten any sleep since then. She can't keep her mind off of Y/N and if she's even okay or...alive.

Everyone was keeping to themselves really. Minnie stayed in her room for the entire two weeks that passed, leaving Miyeon to take care of her.

Shuhua was quieter than ever. Her old bright self had slowly disappeared over this long period. She didn't crack any embarrassing jokes, try to bother the members, or play games with anyone.

Soyeon stayed with Yuqi this entire time. They needed each other to get through this. Soyeon continued to blame herself for all of this but Yuqi was trying her best to shut down Soyeons self accusations.

It was 4:30 in the morning, and Soyeon was the only one awake when her phone started to ring. She picked it up off of her bedside table and quickly answered it so the noise wouldn't wake Yuqi up or any of the other members.

She made her way into the bathroom so she could have more privacy while she talked on the phone.

"Hello?" She whispered into the phone.

"I'm assuming this is Soyeon. And if it is, we have news about the DNA test. It's finished and we found fingerprints all over the fabric. You should head over to the lab as soon as possible so we can give you the full details. And bring your members as well." The police officer said before he hung up, not even giving Soyeon a chance to say anything in response.

Soyeon opened the bathroom door and made her way back over to the side of the bed that Yuqi was sleeping on. She gently shook her shoulder a few times before Yuqi turned around and let out a few noises.

Her eyes slowly opened and met Soyeons eyes that were filled with anticipation and anxiety.

"What's wrong Soyeon?" Yuqi said as she slowly sat up.

"The DNA test has been completed. The police want us to head over to the lab as soon as possible. Can you get dressed and wake up Minnie and Miyeon? I can wake up Shuhua and Soojin." Said Soyeon as she began to undress herself, not wasting any more time.

"Yeah of course. I'll try to be as quick as possible."

Yuqi grabbed some clothes from the closet and made her way into the bathroom, closing the door behind her so she could have a little privacy while she changed.

Once Soyeon was dressed, she walked out of her room and crept silently down the hallway before stopping in front of Shuhuas door.

She knocked a few times before opening the door and making her way over to where Shuhua was sleeping.

She shook her awake but Shuhua only groaned in response and scooted further away.

"Shuhua, you need to wake up. It's about the DNA test. They know whose fingerprints were on the fabric."

Shuhua could only groan even more instead of waking up and this time Soyeon dragged all the covers off of Shuhua. That was the last straw for Shuhua and she quickly sat up. She rubbed her eyes a few times before opening them and turning to look at Soyeon who was still hovering over her.

"Did I hear you say something about a DNA test?" Asked Shuhua in confusion.

"Yes. Now hurry up and get dressed so we can head over to the lab as quickly as possible!" Said Soyeon as she watched as Shuhua slowly got out of bed and walked over to her closet.

Soyeon left Shuhuas room and closed the door behind her before walking over to Soojins room. This time she didn't even waste time knocking, she just barged right in which surprised Soojin who was already awake.

"Oh good. You're already awake. Get dressed. They know whose fingerprints were on the piece of fabric that they found. We need to get to the lab as fast as possible so the police can give us all the details."

Soojins eyes became as wide as possible as she jumped off the bed and ran over to her closet. Soyeon felt accomplished knowing that she was able to wake both Shuhua and Soojin up without any trouble and so she left Soojins room to give her some privacy.

As she walked out, she almost bumped into Yuqi who looked exhausted and frustrated.

"Yuqi? What's wrong?" Soyeon asked softly as she put a hand on Yuqi's arm.

"I'm just tired, that's all. It took a lot out of me to wake up Minnie who absolutely refused to get out of bed. But eventually I managed to convince her. Both her and Miyeon are getting dressed. I told them to meet us downstairs." Said Yuqi.

"That's good. Lets go downstairs and wait for everyone to finish getting ready. You can get some shut eye while we're down there as well." Said Soyeon as she intertwined her fingers with Yuqi's and began to drag her downstairs and into the living room.

Soyeon sat down on the couch and let Yuqi get all situated in her embrace. Yuqi laid her head on Soyeons chest and closed her eyes, letting herself rest before they would have to leave.

At least fifteen minutes had passed before the members started to come downstairs one by one. First it was Minnie, then Shuhua, then Soojin, and last but not least Miyeon. They all looked stressed and exhausted just as Yuqi had looked earlier. Soyeon felt empathy for them but she knew there was no time to rest, they needed to leave and head for the lab.

They all left their dorm and took the elevator to the lobby, where one of the police officers was already waiting for them. They all climbed into the car and the police officer immediately sped away from Cube.

It only took them about four minutes before they finally arrived at the lab. They all climbed out of the car and let the lone police officer guide them to the room where they would be filled in on everything.

The walk to the room felt unnecessarily long. But eventually they made it. And inside the bland room was a long brown table with chairs lining around it on every side and corner. The girls all took their own seats as a few police officers took their seats as well.

One of the police officers cleared his throat before he opened his mouth to speak.

"We found multiple fingerprints on the piece of fabric that we found in our investigation at your dorm. Each fingerprint belonged to that same person. We put the fingerprints into our database and let it search for a match. That took about two days. But eventually it did find a match."

"Who was it? Who took Y/N?" Asked Soojin from across the room.

"The person who took Y/N is a boy the same age as Y/N. And his name is Shiro Himada."
