72. Memories

Sometimes life is very unpredictable. We think that we will live our life on our rules but  destiny is the one who makes rules for us.

I never thought that I will find my true love. But i have to let it go. Not that I want to but the circuit force me to. I sighed and slowly got up. Making sure no to disturb her. My Goddes...

Last night we had a very big fight. She is angry on me. Well i can't deny the fact that i don't deserve it. I wish I could tell her the truth but that will put her life in danger and that's the last thing i want right now. 

I looked at her beautiful face. She looks so cute while sleeping. She looks more pretty in my shirt. I tucked ther lose hair behind her ear.

I can't help but remember the day when I thought i almost lost her. When Jessica told me that Athena is shot. And not only that but she thinks that i tried to kill her. 

I can't blame her for that. Our enemies manipulated the situation in a way that if i was in her place i could have thought the same. I didn't knew what to do. At that time there was only one person who could help me. But i didn't knew whether he will go against his granddaughter to help me.

FLASHBACK

I looked out of the window and the beautiful house. I was having a second thought on my decision. I sighed and stepped out of the car. I don't think I have any other options left.

I rang the bell and the housekeeper opened the door for me. I walked inside the living room and saw him drinking his morning tea while reading the newspaper.

He raised his eyebrows when he saw me walking towards me. I sat down on the sofa.
"You should try to find a place to hide rather than walking inside the lions den" he mocked me.
"I need your help" i said.

He folded the newspaper and kept it on the coffee table.
"What makes you think that i will help you " he asked
"Because you know. I didn't try to kill her " i said.

"You are quite confident " he said 
"You know what i sacrifices to keep her safe. Do you really think after sacrificing so much i will try to kill her" i asked.
"I know the truth. But what about Athena. She doesn't trust you" he said. That hurts but i know the reason behind it.

"She has her reasons to not trust me" i said.
"What do you want?" He asks.
"I want to be near Athena " i said and then the room was filled with laughter.
"What do you think she will do when she will see you walking inside her house " he asked. I rolled my eyes.

"And that's why i need your help " i said.
"Look i need the reason why Athena believes that i tried to kill her. And plus I want to protect her myself. I don't  trust anyone  right now " i explained.
"I understand Andrew. But Ashton or any other family member won't understand this. I know what type person you are that's why i chose you for my granddaughter " he said. 

"There is  a way but it's quite hard" he said.
"I can do anything for Athena " i said.
"Ok..you need to disguise yourself as her bodyguard " he said. I looked at him confusedly.
"Ashton wants a personal bodyguard for Athena and he asked me to give him one strong and loyal bodyguard from my own army." He explained. Now i get he will recommend me to Ashton for Athena's personal bodyguard. That's nkt a bad idea.

Nicholas Paulsen is quite smart. No wonder at this age also no one can outsmart him.
"Look Andrew I know that you're good in fighting. Since you went to army school but Ashton is also quite smart. It won't be easy to pass his test" he warned.

Of course I know Ashton is smart. He knows how to play with it's opponents mind. He is cunning and manipulative.

It wasn't easy to pass Ashton's test but somehow i was able to pass it. He was quite impressed from me. I thought now everything is fine but i didn't knew how Athena hates bodyguards.

I didn't knew that she will make my life hell. But that didn't stopped me from protecting her. No matter what happens i won't leave my job as her bodyguard until i prove myself innocent.

Athena can be difficult to be handle but maybe that's why it makes her different from others.

FLASHBACK ENDS.

I came back to reality when Athena made some moments to wake up. She looked at me but didn't said anything. She stood up and walked towards the bathroom to freshen up. I sighed internally i know she is angry right now.

She needs sometime alone. I walked out of the room and decided to drop Athena at her home. Now she knows that i am innocent so job ends here.

And secondly, i need to go back home. There are many things that still need to be dealt with. I need to find out the person who actually dared to play with me. There is someone from my family who is trying to hurt Athena. And i won't forgive that person so easily. 

After i dropping Athena home. I decided to go back home. The whole ride she didn't uttered a single word. Giving me a cold shoulder. I know that once she calms down she will come around. 

I entered my house that was quite silent since it's 5 o'clock in the morning. So everyone are still sleeping. I made my way inside my bedroom and heard a small bark. I switched on the lights and saw the fur ball sleeping on the carpet. 

I smiled crept on my face and picked him up in my arms. Athena saved him and that's why he is my favorite.

I am not a dog person but when i saw the love in Athena's eyes for this little one i couldn't help but adopt him.

And look now he has become my best friend. All this time when i was alone when i missed Athena he was the one who gave me a company.

Whenever I missed Athena or felt lonely i used to hug him and all my loneliness used disappear. That's was one of many reasons i didn't want him to give it to Athena. She has her family to love her and support her. But only have him as my companion.

He reminds me of Athena so much especially his brown eyes.
"Ohh my baby..." i kissed his forehead. I cuddle him in my arms. He looks at me with his big brown eyes. I know he misses Athena a lot. Don't worry my fur ball Athena will come back very soon....
