The only alteration the elders requested was that, for the quotas paid for with money, ten percent would additionally go into the Sect treasury. That money would then turn into pills and other cultivation materials for the disciples.

The head elder said to the others to not make a fuss if Shao Yue didn't accept the condition, but she agreed to it.

She left all the boring stuff, such as how to handle the bidding or how to space out the limited quotas, entirely to the elders.

After a week, Ren Meili delivered a list to Shao Yue. It contained the times, prices, and topics for each of the week's quotas. She also handed over two technique manuals.

All of the first seven had been paid for in gold and silver. Two wanted help with a technique, two with resonance, and three with fighting. The prices were rather modest. People still had their doubts, of course.

Could the little girl truly help them? How much good could half an hour of instruction do?

Once she proved herself, the prices would surely skyrocket.

She flipped through the technique manuals and mastered them before returning to her cultivation, asking Ren Meili to remind her whenever a time neared.

A few days later, rumours spread like wildfire.

"I asked Junior Sister Shao to help me with a grade two technique I could barely use. That was two days ago, and now I'm at initial mastery!"

"Wow! For me, I asked for help with resonance. She recognized my Spirit at a glance and instantly knew everything about it. I should have brought something to write with, but I think I won't encounter any bottlenecks until at least the Eighth Stage!"

"I sparred with Junior Brother Yuan before he had a lesson with Junior Sister Shao, then again after. He was like a different person! We're the same realm, but now he completely oppresses me."

Her reputation soared into the heavens with each passing day. The prices of her lessons rose to match as everyone wanted an opportunity. Money was temporary, cultivation was forever.

Many people started to wonder who she actually was. The main theory was that she was the disciple of some powerful entity from the mainland sent to their sect for life experience, but nobody could find anything tangible.

After a month, Shao Yue received a strange appointment. Someone requested private help with a realm breakthrough in the dead of night. There would be nothing to instruct with a Qi Refinement to Resonance breakthrough, so it had to be someone asking her to help them form a Core.

Which was strange, since she hadn't reached Core Formation herself.

But, they paid a lot of contribution points for it, so she would help regardless. It wasn't like she didn't know how.

Reality exceeded her expectations. When the time came, Shao Yue opened the door of her courtyard and said, "You sure have a high opinion of me."

The elder at the peak of the Core Formation Realm laughed. "After being unable to break through for so many years, I'm okay taking a gamble."

"Then, come in, elder."

Private lessons would be held in Shao Yue's courtyard, while public ones were held at the arena. The prices were the same and Shao Yue didn't care either way, it all came down to what the buyer wanted.

They sat down with the table between them. Shao Yue weaved her fingers together. "Elder thinks I can help him develop his Nascent Soul?"

"Everyone believes that you were trained by a heaven-defying master," the elder explained. "From there, it's not unreasonable to think that you may have been told some secrets."
