The group glanced around. The inside of the Cave Heaven was exactly as described. Everywhere they looked, they saw herbs. The highest in the immediate area was even grade three.
The others started picking herbs and stuffing them into jade boxes to preserve the effects while Shao Yue took advantage of her divine sense.
A five kilometer radius was nothing for an Emperor Realm cultivator. It all fell within her passive divine sense. She instantly knew there was a second layer beneath them and started probing around to find out how to get to it.
"We only have three days," Shao Yue said, removing her detached sleeves. "Let's not bother with those weeds. Follow me."
"Weeds? These are grade three herbs!"
"There are grade four herbs older than a thousand years deeper inside," Shao Yue said, turning and walking in a specific direction.
The others exchanged glances. Even if they picked a hundred grade three herbs, it wouldn't match up to a single thousand-year grade four herb. Even normal grade four herbs would only rarely be found on their island.
They didn't know what Shao Yue had noticed, but knew better than to question her.
After half an hour of walking, they reached the extremity of the domain. Giant cliffs blocked them from progressing further, countless precious ores embedded within.
Shao Yue stepped over to a certain spot and nodded. There was an illusion array hidden that made an entrance to a tunnel look the same as the rest of the cliffs.
She thought about the master who had made the domain. What did you want?
The only way a Resonance Realm cultivator would find the entrance would be if they were mining in the area and stumbled across it by luck. In other words, the prerequisite for finding it would be having a greater interest in ores compared to herbs.
"Through here," Shao Yue said, walking through the wall.
The others rubbed their eyes before quickly following.
"Senior Sister Shao," Hu Shan said, "do you have divine sense?"
"I have a lot of experience with domains," Shao Yue replied.
Domains were created from the combination of a cultivator's soul, qi, and will. Unless the cultivator had a strong grudge or desire for revenge, the domain would usually be designed to try to find an inheritor for their core knowledge and treasures. That was why she found the whole setup quite odd.
Shao Yue's Cave Heaven wasn't a domain because her soul couldn't be part of it. Technically, her body was still alive in a permanent coma. She assumed Kong Shun would visit her tomb and take care of that for her before it turned into an issue.
The group followed a winding tunnel down several hundred meters before coming into a cavern just as big as the upper area. Most of the area was rocky and full of gems and metals. Each cardinal direction had a herb garden.
"There are no monsters and nobody else will come here," Shao Yue said. "We can split up. Let's regroup after two days and sort out the finds. Those rings of stones there and there have herbs inside."
Everyone nodded, brimming with excitement before running off in different directions. Shao Yue headed towards the very center of the area.
Opening once every ten years while forbidding Cores essentially meant that the creator wanted a different group of people each time. She assumed the inheritor needed some certain trait that, if they didn't have it, they never would have it.
