"Yue, I'm going to go wander for a while," Cai Fei decided after reaching the peak of the Heavenly Realm.

"Good luck," Shao Yue replied. "I'm sure you can do it."

Cai Fei picked up the puppet to put a soul clone into it, but Shao Yue stopped her.

"You should keep your soul whole," Shao Yue suggested. "If you make the breakthrough, you'll need it all together. I'll survive for however long it takes."

"Mm. Alright."

Cai Fei set the puppet down on the dresser, posing it cross-legged. She then gave Shao Yue a kiss and took her leave, flying off in a mostly random direction.

She didn't know what she was looking for. She needed some kind of inspiration to take the final step and cross into the Emperor Realm. She could only search for it randomly and have some patience.

She wandered through wilderness, climbing hills and following rivers. She stopped by some small towns and observed the inhabitants. She lazed on the ground and watched the clouds in the sky. She followed a family of foxes for a few weeks.

"Let's try somewhere more populated."

Cai Fei headed to one of the biggest mortal cities. It had a population of around a hundred million, giving her plenty of things to try and observe. She strode through the sea of people, keeping her presence suppressed. To mortals, she didn't even exist.

As she wandered through the city, she'd sometimes help people, sometimes ignore them, seeing how both choices made her feel. She purchased random trinkets from stores and occasionally gifted them to children.

"Young lady, would you like your fortune read?"

Cai Fei glanced over. An old woman sat at a stall covered in purple fabric. She had nothing better to do, so she walked over and sat down. "Sure."

"What would you like to know?"

"Hmm." Cai Fei considered it briefly. If she could know anything about her future, what would she want to know? "Who is the next person my fiancee will fall in love with?"

The woman chuckled. "Let me see your hand. I'll try to check."

Cai Fei extended her hand. The woman took it and started rubbing her thumbs on Cai Fei's palm. Qi fluctuations spread around them.

"Does she actually have a divination ability?" Cai Fei wondered.

The old woman, despite her looks, was in the Heavenly Realm. Cai Fei would have to ask Liezhu about whether divination was possible, once she returned.

"Is your fiancee a cultivator?" the woman asked. "I sense someone, but they are very far in the future."

"Yes."

"The name..."

The woman closed her eyes, focusing intently. Cai Fei felt the qi fluctuations grow erratic, even tossing her hair around.

The woman took a deep breath and opened her eyes. "Xie."

"Xie, huh?" Cai Fei wasn't sure whether to believe it, but it felt like something had been happening, at least.

"That's what I saw," the woman replied, nodding.

"How far in the future?"

"Thousands of years. Maybe tens of thousands."

Cai Fei nodded slowly. "Well, thanks for that."

Cai Fei rose to her feet and tossed a high-grade spirit stone on the table before taking her leave.
