Liezhu's divine sense crashed through the restrictions around the central pavilion and entered Shao Yue's mind. "Shao Yue, we have trouble!"
Shao Yue snapped open her eyes and stood up from her meditation. "What is it?"
"Grade ten monster beast approaching!"
"Ten?!" Shao Yue's heart skipped a beat. She sprinted down the stairs. "What species?"
"Black Sky Butterfly!"
"Sky? Not wind?"
"Now's not the time to be ignorant!"
Shao Yue left the pavilion and turned her eyes to the sky. A massive butterfly covered the sky in the distance, its wingspan at least a few kilometers. It had many similarities to Cai Fei's Spirit, but with different patterns on its wings. With every flap, it blinked forward dozens of kilometers.
"Get inside," Shao Yue barked to her disciples before flying out of the restrictions to join Liezhu.
Such a powerful visitor wouldn't go unnoticed by the rest of the sect. Lai Qiao, with Wen Huifang and Yun Chunhua at his sides, came over to give their assistance.
"What's going on?" Lai Qiao asked.
"No idea," Shao Yue replied.
"How did it get here?"
"It's at Void Traversal," Liezhu snapped. "How do you think it got here?"
Lai Qiao furrowed his brows. "What?"
Darkness covered them as the Black Sky Butterfly appeared directly above, its wings blotting out the sun. The world energy in the area converged towards it, its wings giving off a strange black glow.
When faced with a grade ten monster beast, it wasn't the time to be hiding trump cards. Shao Yue summoned several flying swords around herself. Hu'er appeared beside her with a grim expression. She almost never used Jinwu, but even he appeared behind her, spreading his magnificent golden wings as flames danced on Shao Yue's body.
A projection of a six-armed deity appeared behind Lai Qiao, each hand holding a different type of weapon. His wives took positions on either side of him, ready to support. Their three Spirits leapt in front of them.
Shao Yue, Jinwu, Liezhu, and Lai Qiao all released their Authority towards the Black Sky Butterfly. Liezhu and Lai Qiao were low-grade Emperors. Jinwu was mid-grade, but as a Three-Legged Golden Crow, his soul had an oppressive effect on lesser monster beasts. Shao Yue had the soul strength of a high-grade Emperor.
Combined, the pressure was enough to make the Black Sky Butterfly pause.
"Hmph, it seems the rumours of this being the strongest sect weren't exaggerated," a woman's voice said with some annoyance. "Four Emperors is troublesome."
"Why don't we talk instead of fighting?" Shao Yue asked. "We don't know why you came here, we've done nothing to offend you that I'm aware of."
"There's a cultivator here with a Black Wind Butterfly Spirit," the Black Sky Butterfly responded. "Hand her over."
A cold light flashed through Shao Yue's eyes. She released unrestrained killing intent towards the butterfly. Everyone nearby took a step away from her, feeling as if a blade was pressed to their throats even though they weren't the target.
"I'd rather fight you to the death than hand her over."
"She possesses a Pure Yin Spring," the Black Sky Butterfly said with impatience. "Give me that and I'll leave."
