The news of Shao Yue's successful ascendance quickly travelled through the world. It was a major event, the first time in known history that someone had succeeded.

Some of the observers had recorded the tribulation in jades that they sold for exorbitant prices. The contents shocked anyone who watched it. They couldn't determine that Shao Yue had been fighting against time, but just the visuals of her changing from young to old repeatedly as the surroundings changed stunned them.

"Is it like a tribulation that targets your entire life?" some people wondered.

The other Emperors soon came into possession of the jades and watched with pensive expressions, their confidence wavering. They had no idea how they would deal with a similar tribulation.

People discussed the event all over the world. Even the mortals had heard of it.

Rainbow Mist Peak was no exception, though the main peak remained as peaceful as ever.

"Liling," Shao Yue said, approaching the former princess. "Let's close the meridians of all of the disciples."

"Eh?" Jin Liling's eyes went wide. "All of them?"

Shao Yue nodded. "After I connect the timelines, it will be much harder to affect time. This might be our last chance to play around with it. We should close them all while we can."

Jin Liling felt a bit dizzy thinking about how much work was ahead of them. "You're right. We might as well."

Shao Yue went around to the other direct disciples and collected their insights on cultivating with closed meridians. She spent some time organizing everything and removing the redundancies, then compiled it all into a jade slip. She repeatedly copied the contents until she had enough jade slips for every Rainbow Mist Peak disciple to have one.

They waited until the decennial ranking tournament concluded, then got to work.

The regular disciples grew excited when they heard Shao Yue's plan. They'd all seen Shao Yue and the direct disciples with their closed meridians. Having their own closed made them feel closer, more unified.

It took nearly two years to close all of them. All the disciples remained in seclusion, studying the jade slips.

Shao Yue also went into secluded meditation to attain her peak state, preparing to connect the timelines.

A year later, she stood in the sky above the peak. The Black Sky Butterfly, Liezhu, Cai Fei, and Shao Xing lingered around her. Being so high up, the winds blew fiercely, tossing their hair and clothes around.

Now that Shao Yue had reached Void Traversal, she could perceive the seal around the world. The space around the planet had been compressed to an insane degree. Someone could fly a million miles without leaving it, and even if they did, there would be nothing awaiting them on the other side.

She could also sense the massive river of time that represented the actual universe. Compared to it, their own river of time was smaller than a hair.

Shao Yue took a deep breath.

"I'll take care of the spatial linking," the Black Sky Butterfly said. "You focus on the temporal linking."

"Right."

The Black Sky Butterfly extended her hands and started unfolding the walls surrounding the planet.

Shao Yue brought her hands together and refined some of their own timeline into a small blade. She wound up and threw it as hard as she could towards the main timeline. It left behind a visible scar in the sky which she funnelled her qi through to propel it further.
