Chapter 2: Gathering Clouds

[Flashback continued]
The rest of the gods were tending to Andrea, but as soon as Maya finished speaking they turned to her in fear until Ariel stood out and approached her. Ariel said, "We need your expertise to fight an ever-growing evil, that not even your children can defeat, but we will explain later, your child needs attention". Maya smiled at Andrea and said "She did this? All by herself? "and Ariel said, "Yes but it has drained her badly and we cannot keep her here any longer and expose her to more information that the enemy could probe her mind for". Maya said "I understand, now make way...all of you" as she zapped Andrea which regenerated her instantly. As she began to wake up, she caught a glimpse of Maya's face before her fingers snapped and she said "Farewell my child" before She was transported back into her and Jay's bedroom.

After sending Andrea back home Maya smiled and said "I'd love to meet her one day and see just how good you guys have trained her". Aula said we will but first, we have more pressing matters to discuss" .After telling Maya about the Anti fragment, she smiled and said "That's it?...well now that I'm here we'll teleport there with all our might and disintegrate the whole planet and the fragment and leave...its literally my power, I created it and I can use the same power to destroy it". Ariel said "perhaps you're underestimating the enemy" and Maya said, "perhaps you don't understand my powers as I do...we leave first thing tomorrow".

The next day Maya and the gods assembled and transported to the farthest reaches of the universe and surrounded the planet of Agathoria; waiting for Maya's command. Maya grinned and said "onward" as thousands of gods flew down to the city on the surface and joined Maya in blasting the inhabitants, only there was one problem. Instead of exploding, they began to grow larger as they observed the energy which horrified Maya. Harmony destroys chaos so why were they getting stronger? After seeing this, Maya ordered a swift retreat as they couldn't fight back and Many gods, were captured and held on the planet of Agathoria.

After arriving back home, all eyes looked at Maya in hate and disgust at what her smug, overconfidence had just done. Despite being the strongest god around, even she was worried so she did something no one expected. She called a meeting where she asked for advice. The room stayed silent until Maldor spoke up and said "Thanks to your failed attack, the anti-gods have gained all the power they need to travel here and wipe us out, but it will take 1 year or less for them to reach us. Maya said "what about the gods left behind?" And Maldor said "they've been corrupted by the chaos fragment which is what awaits all of us when they get here ma'am". Maya gulped and said, "we must try to find a way to defeat them before they reach here and as leader, I want every option explored, including the complete destruction of the universe".

Over the next few months, they tried everything from attempting to harness and purify the chaos without corrupting themselves, to proposing a peace treaty, but nothing worked. The experiments only served in killing more gods who dared to try and wield the powers of chaos. Ariel, as well as many other gods, tried to propose an evacuation of children and gods from the first city but Maya sternly said" No I will not just hand them this city on a silver platter...we all stay until the end".As leader and the most powerful goddess; no one dared question her decisions. Maldor said what about bringing your children here? and Maya said," Their powers would just feed them, there's no sense in bringing them up here to perish".

The anti-gods arrived at the first city late in the evening and began blasting it with their new chaotic powers, infecting a large amount of the children in training while simultaneously taking out the gods at their posts in the galaxy. One by one the surviving gods watched stars go black as more of their friends were captured and corrupted. Maya being immune seemed to be their only hope so she was rushed away from the city as fast as possible.
[End flashback]

After stepping through the portal, she found herself in a large city but she didn't know where. Instead of feeling safe Maya felt overwhelming responsibility as well as guilt for her role in the destruction of their society and every one of her citizens. She quickly changed into her human form and created clothes for herself and started walking until she got answers. After walking for a bit she found out that she had sent herself to earth and she was in a place called Houston. Strangely enough, her body pulled her in one direction as if she was a magnet and when she tried to walk away, she could not do it.

Maya continued walking for some time until her path stopped in front of a giant store with the name "Slabmart" written on the front of it. Unbeknownst to Maya, inside the store, she stood in front of; the manager; Andrea Mendoza was freaking out because her wrist patch was glowing out of control. It was nighttime so she slipped out back as fast as she could and called Jay and told him what was going on until this blonde-haired woman approached her and she freaked out and dinged her on the head with a fire extinguisher and slowly began dragging her to her car.
