Chapter 29: Opening Locks

Meanwhile back at the celestial temple, Andrea had long finished creating the place and they were now finishing their survey to make sure everything was in order but Andrea's mind was elsewhere. Maya noticed this and said, "Andrea we have everything wrapped up here, if you need to go home go right ahead, you look like you could use some rest". Andrea smiled at her and said "thank you" as she opened a portal back to the living room of the house and put on her best poker face despite wanting to show remorse for not noticing any sooner, how unhappy her partner was.

She walked up the stairs and down the hall, which for her, felt like an eternity until she reached her bedroom door and gently pushed it open. She walked in and saw jay standing out on the balcony staring into the blue sky, deep in thought. She walked onto the balcony, over to him, and gave him a tight hug but said nothing". Jay gently pushed her away and walked back inside and grabbed the keys to his truck, and headed over to the door. Andrea said "where are you going? and jay fake smiled and said "out somewhere and she smiled and said "let's go then". Jay turned around and said "I have to do this alone Andrea, but please go get you some rest". Andrea sighed and said "okay" before giving him a kiss and sitting in a chair before he left out.

After waiting a few minutes, Andrea left out and began to tail jay from the sky above him as he drove...she didn't like snooping on him but his tone of voice and demeanor worried her. Jay continued driving until he was well outside the city, before parking and walking through the field and atop a hill with something in his hands. It was a picture of a light skin woman with black hair and come to think about it, he looked a lot like her so Andrea figured that it was his mother. He stood there for quite a while, just staring at the photo until out of nowhere, he punched it and started screaming "I hate you" before falling to his knees and crying. Andrea few over to him and rubbed his back and pulled him against her as he continued to cry. 

Andrea softly said to him "I'm here, talk to me jay" and he sighed and said, "I don't even know if I  have the strength right now". Andrea smiled and said, "you don't have to tell me because I already overheard you and my mom talking after you accidentally activated your telepathy". Jay sighed and said "you're probably angry at me aren't you?" and she giggled before kissing him and saying "nope". Jay looked up at her confused?" and she smiled and said, "I love you and I would never be mad at you for keeping this bottled up but I am angry that you've been working yourself to death just because you think you're gonna lose me". 

Jay didn't say anything as he simply didn't know what to say. Andrea turned jay so that he was facing her and she said "jay I'm going, to be honest, I don't care if you're useful to me or not, or if we go on dates every week...you could be in a wheelchair for all I care and yet I would still love you all the same jay...you don't need to keep me impressed, my feelings for you aren't temporary I see you as a normal guy with flaws just like me". Jay smiled and began to tear up a bit before Andrea cupped his cheek and said "I would enjoy doing anything with you, even if it's just paying bills, filing paperwork or even brushing our teeth". Jay smiled and said "really?" and Andrea pulled him into a kiss and said "really honey". 

Andrea smiled and said "I'm 26 now believe me when I say that I know what I want and it's you; I love you because you are respectful, attentive, caring and you always support me in any way, but like I told you yesterday; I get to be myself with you, no other guy would willingly go out of their way for me even when I don't ask just to see me happy...you're special jay to me, you make me feel certain ways that I can't even put into words but I know the feelings are amazing." Jay sighed and said, "but what if I change after letting go of my past, what if I become lazy or turn into a jerk?".

 Andrea giggled and said, "jay you won't change... I know you won't because of how you acted at the times we weren't together". Especially when we were thrown back in time, and I didn't remember you and I practically abused you horribly; you coulda gave up on me, left and lived out your days elsewhere but you didn't, you stayed and helped me". Andrea looked at jay and said "your past shaped you, but it's not what's controlled you up until recently...that's been all you and it won't change because I have total trust and faith in your feelings for me, so please give me the same benefit of the doubt". Jay smiled and said, "I will my tender lollipop".

Andrea blushed and said "I want you to start the healing process by laying on your ass all day and doing nothing unless I ask...let me handle things, I'm a survivor, and your soon-to-be wife, we'll carry the load together, I don't mind splitting things 70/30 until you overcome this jay...but we're in this mess together all the way". Jay reluctantly shook her hand before saying "fine, I will try to be lazy". Andrea picked him up and flew them all the way back to the truck and took his keys and hopped in the driver's seat. She smiles and said "from this point on, you're not doing anything, so relax sweetie" as she giggled and sped off down the highway".
