Chapter 31: Homeward Bound

The few days were difficult for jay but with Andrea's support, he managed to stop doing so much and actually lived like a carefree kid the whole time with only minimal feelings of guilt. It was late in the evening when Andrea had called Jay downstairs to bring the deck of Uno cards to her which was just a cover for the final part of Jay's test. As Andrea took the deck from him, she smiled and said "I don't want to see you down here checking on me at all, just like we agreed... I'm a survivor remember". Jay grunted, before saying, okay honey".

Although it was difficult, Jay continued his activities of watching television and reading, without once checking on her, despite the racket they were making. As he fell asleep later that night, alone he felt at peace with himself, like his chains had been cut. He still was insecure about Andrea but it was okay because she was insecure about him too...it's just a part of life he thought to himself. He woke up the next morning to find Andrea slumped over next to him, clearly hungover, so he headed downstairs and made her a hangover cure before bringing it upstairs and waking her up. Jay smiled and said, "good morning, drink up, we've got to rebuild the universe today and it's gonna drain us pretty badly ".

He gave her a kiss and said "meet you downstairs my little drunken pirate". She drank Jay's cure and headed downstairs to eat with Jay who was just finishing up his cereal. After eating Maldor sat everyone down and said "good news is that Jay is fully healed and today will be the biggest task for the week, which is cloning the stars and the planets starting from the solar system and to the farthest edges... it'll be quick but possibly painful". Andrea and Jay joined hands and said "let's get this done then" and Maldor smiled and snapped his fingers and transported them into space. He said, "follow my instructions because they're slightly different and extremely important".

Maldor said, "Andrea I want you to do as before and focus on your surroundings, become one with it". Andrea did as she was instructed as a third eye of energy appeared on her forehead". Maldor said "now jay, link with her and focus on the same thing". Jay did as instructed as power began to build up, causing a beam to fire from both of them which Maldor opened a portal to the future and directed it into there. Maldor smiled and said, "now Ariel, and Maya, I want both of you to link with them and focus on Agathor's children being erased from this new universe". They nodded and did as he asked before Maldor snapped his fingers, and transported them into the new universe. Maldor traveled forward in time to when the universe was infected and began channeling chaos into the portal that led into the new universe which met up with the harmonious powers causing a dark purple sphere to form where the two powers clashed".

Maldor's aim was to create a reverse explosion that would instantly recreate the universe and it seemed to be working. As the power began to build between the gods, the whole place began to shake as the harmony and chaotic powers began to destabilize as intended. This continued for several more minutes until "Boom!" the energy buildup exploded; blinding everyone in a white flash of light". When everyone woke, they were surrounded by stars and the planets in the solar system but there was one problem, the universe was a year and 4 months behind the current timeline it should be at. After seeing how drained everyone was, he snapped his fingers and transported everyone back home and said to them "we'll fix the rest of the issues tomorrow".

The next day, Maldor and Jay returned and brought the entire universe back up to speed by simply speeding up time and watching it fly by normally until it reached the current time. Maldor looked at Jay and said, "everything is back the way it should be but all that's left to do is to reintegrate ourselves by merging with our clones as soon as we're ready". Jay looked at Maldor confused and said "how do we do that " and he smiled and said, "I'll tell you when it's time, but for right now let's go enjoy our last day in exile". Jay smiled and said "sounds like a plan " before opening a portal back into the living room. After calling the family in, Maldor explained how the merging would work and if everyone was ready and surprisingly, everyone nodded as Maldor smiled and said "great, let's begin and when the process is complete we will all wake up in the last place we were on earth which would be Andrea and Jay's house".

Andrea's mother said "what about our house?" and Maldor said, "at the request of Joanna and Raul, we have left the house in its destroyed state". Julie looked at her mother who said "I don't want to magic it all away, the house was destroyed and it's time to rebuild stronger and better and show the world it's a bright new day for our family...and I want to do it with our own blood and sweat". Julie hugged her mother and said "okay" but I will always love that home". Maldor smiled and said "are you all ready?" And Jay grabbed Andrea's hand and said "ready" along with everyone else. Maldor said "very well" as he snapped his fingers blinding everyone in a flash of light.
