Chapter 18: Forming a Fix

Maya smiled and said "Then we'll begin the forming of a plan soon, but for now let's celebrate" before she raised her glass of wine and drank it along with Maldor as Ariel looked appalled. Andrea raised her eyebrow at her and she finally gave in and raised her glass and drank too. After eating; Paula, Andrea, and her mother played a game of drunken Uno in the game area upstairs, while Jay watched, because to him it was hilarious and adorable to watch her get drunk from time to time. He was mainly there to watch so he could tell her when she's had enough. The game lasted for about 2 hours with Andrea winning by 3 drinks more than her mom but in the end, they all were slumped over the table drunk.

Jay sighed and picked each of them up one by one and laid two of them on the king-sized bed in their bedroom and put the other in the recliner before closing the door. Jay went down to his office and lay in his recliner and watched some alien tv shows for a while before drifting off to sleep, himself. He was awoken during the night by someone stumbling into his office and falling onto him; it was Andrea. He turned on the light and pulled her up to him as she kept mumbling please don't leave me" and jay pulled the covers over them, kissed her forehead, and softly whispered "I'm not gonna leave you, not ever again". He could tell she was having nightmares as she tossed and turned in her sleep and mumbled his name" and he stayed up longer kissing her forehead and gently rocking her like a baby until the nightmares passed. 

He honestly thought about beaming into her dreams to protect her but then he realized that it was best for her to face it alone as it would help her grow stronger but if they continued into tomorrow he would interfere. The next morning, Jay woke up and brought Andrea a hangover cure as she laid in jays recliner feeling like she was going to die again". Jay kissed her forehead and said "I'll bring some breakfast after I go meet with Maldor and Maya". Andrea saluted and went back to watching an alien reality show and holding her stomach in agony". Jay went and met with the gods in the upstairs gaming area and saw they all had smiles on their faces. "what's going on?" asked Jay and Maya said, "I believe we've found a way to defeat the Anti gods without destroying them completely".

Jay smiled and said "Great how's it gonna work? "and Maldor said, "Well we're going to use a giant circuit of all of our powers and we're going to absorb all the chaos and shoot it right back at them like we did with Ariel". Jay said, "But there's too many of them". Maldor said, "You are indeed correct, but we're dividing this mission into two phases, the first phase involves locating and destroying the crystal, and then phase 2 is purifying the other gods and the stars". Jay said, "It sounds easy but I know it's far from it...so please treat it like that". Maya nodded and said "I won't do that again" Jay smiled and said, "It's okay to mess up just learn from your mistakes Mother". 

Maya smiled and said, "Unfortunately, you both have to go through more training but yours will be harder because you have to learn to safely channel chaos". Jay sighed and said fine but only if Maldor teaches me" and Maya said" Oh he will be training you while Ariel and I will train Andrea and at the end, we will integrate your training". Jay smiled and said "That's fine but give it a week or two, we all need time to adjust and finalize things". Ariel nodded and said "agreed we will commence training at the end of the week". Jay walked back to his office and found Andrea still in his recliner, giggling and laughing at this show until she heard him come in and saw his face".

She opened her eyes wide and said "What's wrong honey?" and he sighed and said, "They've found a way to defeat the anti-gods and we start training next week". Andrea giggled and said, "So what...we've been through this before". Jay sat down and said, "I know but I'm just nervous...this mission is 3x more dangerous than fighting Agathor and I just don't want to lose you again or see any of my friends hurt...I'm scared to fail". Andrea sat up and walked over to him and said "Honey even if we fail, I will make sure we both come back, and believe me when I say; it will take more than a failed plan to get you away from me". she kissed him and said, "if you're scared then I'm scared with you, you don't ever have to carry this alone, that's why we're partners Dumbo".

The next week went by very slowly and Andrea and Jay made the most of every day by going on dates playing games with the family, and just having fun but it wasn't until after a few days that Jay felt like he was truly at home again and his fiancée could tell. She felt happy that they finally got a chance to have more downtime and that he was feeling less stressed, but just to make sure he was okay, she had one final thing planned for him tomorrow which was their last day before training begins.
