Chapter 13: Corrupted Hearts

Andrea wiped away Paula's tears and said "When I was dead, I was with Jay, I saw him and we hung out for weeks on end until you guys pulled me out". While we were there we bonded more and now I have his half of powers and him in my heart literally...I'm back stronger than ever and I promise you this ends even if I have to destroy the whole universe and rebuild it". Paula hugged her and said "I believe you bestie". Andrea said "The load is heavy but I can handle it for you, for jay and for my family". Paul nodded and said "good Ill go and give you some time to get settled in" and Andrea said" I was thinking we could have some drinks". Paula's eyes went wide and Andrea started laughing before saying "I'm just kidding...I can't believe my mom outdrank you...she's like 42". Paula groaned and said, "You're on...let's see if you can drink as much as you talk".

Andrea said" You're on" as Paula walked off shaking her head at what she had just gotten herself into. Later that day, everyone sat at the table to eat with smiles on their faces staring at Andrea eating. After noticing this, she stopped and said "I get you all missed me but this is just weird". Thankfully, Maya spoke up and said" We have made some very good discoveries this evening but we need something to test our findings on before we can form a plan". Maldor stood up, sighed, and said "We need to go back to the first city and capture Ariel or Aula and bring her back here for testing". After hearing that, Andrea's whole demeanor changed; her eyes filled with fury, and her heart filled with unexplainable rage. Andrea only snapped back to normal when Maya shouted her name and asked if she was okay and She nodded and said "yes" when secretly, she was far from it". Maya said, "Then it's settled, me Maldor and you will go and this time nobody dies".

Andrea nodded and said, "Good as she quickly left the table and told Paula they would have their contest tomorrow night and Paula replied with a sigh of relief". As Andrea made it into her room, she fell to the floor as she became overwhelmed with rage and a hunger for revenge as her eyes turned red and black streaks ran up her arms, legs, and across her face. Andrea's powers started building until she saw flashbacks of Jay and it brought her powers back under control. Andrea fell asleep that night and dreamed of Jay and by the time she woke up, she was a ticking time bomb, soon to explode.

In the morning, Andrea woke up, got dressed, skipped breakfast, and met Maya and Maldor in the living room. She opened a portal back to the first city in the celestial plains and said "Let's go" as they followed behind her. Despite acting odd, everyone seemed to mistake her odd behavior for determination but they would soon see how wrong they were. Andrea, Maya, and Maldor made their way back to the temple where Jay died and this time they intentionally made a noisy trail. Within a few minutes the infected children came and Maya and Maldor combined their powers into a giant shockwave which seemed successful in knocking them out temporarily as wave after wave came". Andrea said why can't I fight with you? and Maya said, "you don't have the practice yet, we will use your extra power to capture her when she arrives but for now save your strength".

It didn't take long for Ariel to arrive, and the instant sight of the one who killed her beloved sent her over the edge. Andrea's eyes turned red, and black streaks ran all up her body as she yelled "You took him from me" before she flew over and attack Ariel with every drop of her power. Maldor was concerned but right now he could not stop her so he and Ariel added their powers to the mix and ended up containing her in a half-chaotic, half-harmonic force field infused with Andrea's out-of-control Chaotic energy. Despite being contained, Andrea wouldn't let up, she continued blasting the force field with her corrupted energy until Maya deflected it right back at her knocking Andrea down. She got back up and flew outside screaming "You all will pay" and malodor said "Oh crap... it's happening and Maya said "What's happening?". Maldor said "I haven't got time to explain...take Ariel back and I'll handle Andrea" and Maya nodded as they went in their separate ways.

when he stepped out into the courtyard, he saw Andrea vaporizing the infected children and absorbing their energy as they ran. Maldor closed his eyes and began channeling the chaos from Andrea's heart and sending it back into her as harmonic energy. Maldor continued for quite some time until she screamed and exploded in a cloud of purple smoke". Meanwhile Maya had crossed back through the portal and found the family waiting for her. Andrea's mother said" Where's Andrea?" as Maya scratched her head before saying "I don't know what's happened to her...I think her heart's corrupted but Maldor said he would handle her all we can do is wait". Back at the courtyard, Maldor approached the plume of smoking not knowing if she survived that explosion or if she was gone again.
