After school, Matt walked to my house to study for Science. As we walk up to my room and sit on my bed, we start.

"Could you repeat that?" Matthew asks.

"A hot air balloon has three essential parts: The Burner, the Balloon Envelope and the basket, what is the purpose of them," I repeat, putting down my textbook.

"I don't understand why we need to study this when we could go experience it," he sighs with exasperation, flopping onto my bed.

I grin slightly, "And where do you think we could do that?"

Matt smirks and grabs my hand, pulling me up from my bed and out of my room.

Before I knew it, Matt had me blind folded in my car as he drove where ever we're going.

"Sorry, I didn't catch where we were going," I say staring into darkness. Matt just chuckles.

"Bump," he says in a casual voice.

"Wha-" I ask confused but was caught off when we hit a huge bump causing me to hit my head on the roof of the cars hood.

Matthew laughs, "I warned you!" I couldn't help but laugh myself. I was tempted to peak but I knew it would ruin this surprise.

"Can you at least give me a hint?" I ask.

"Well," he pauses to think, "we are going to complete one of my life long dreams."

"We're not going to a chocolate factory to test a bunch of new chocolate, are we?" I ask teasingly.

"No!" Matthew says weirdly, then after a minute he adds in quietly, "but that is in my bucket list." I giggle when the car comes to a stop. "We. are. here," Matt says getting out. He opens my door and helps me out. A breeze greets me when I step out of the car. Matt takes my hand, guiding my forewards. I feel goosebumps on my arms. Probably from the wind though, right?

"All right, one big step," Matt instructs helping me take a step, steadying me. I place my foot on the surface and I flinch slightly. It was solid but it was also un-steady. Where did you take me Matt? I wait patiently as I feel butterflies in my stomach, something was up.

Suddenly I feel Matt untie the blind fold and I gasp at the sight in front of me. I look around, we're on a hot air balloon? "Since when was this your dream?" I ask, admiring the view of the city.

He shrugs, "I've always wanted to go on one as a kid," he smiles. I nod and lean over slightly, looking at the ground way below us. I shiver slightly as yet another cold breeze blows through me. "Cold?" He asks.

"Kinda-" before I could object, Matt takes off his button up sweater and puts it on me, I smile, "thanks."

The ride lasted about a half hour, until we were hopping out of the basket, back onto Earth's surface. I follow Matt back to my car. When I get in the passenger seat I feel upset that the ride was over and we were heading back home. Matthew would probably go back to his house as well.

And I was right, Matt drove to his house and parked in his driveway. We had a moment of silence in his driveway.

"So," he breaks the silence, "see you tomorrow?"

"Ya, thanks for the hot air balloon ride, it was amazing," I say as we get out.

"Thanks for the study date," he winks teasingly, I chuckle slightly, with a bit of awkwardness.

"Well, goodnight," I say as I get into the drivers seat. He waves as I pull out of his driveway. When I turn the corner and leave his street, I let out a huge breathe that I have been holding in for the longest time.
