Cadence's P.O.V

I couldn't focus today. Turns out, Sheila is in every single class as me, except English. So much was running through my mind right now. I couldn't help the fact that my most disliked person in my life was back. Why did she come back anyways? Probably to ruin my life!

There's no point worrying, I think, how much worse can it get from here?

The bell rings and I walk out of the classroom, Matthew right behind me. "Hey, having a rough day?" He asks me, matching my pace.

"How'd you know?" I ask slightly mystified.

He shrugs, "I'm having an off day as well," there's a slight pause, "and I can see it in your eyes."

We continue walking down the halls until I reach my locker. Grabbing my history textbook, Jack G grabs my hand and pulls me to the side. "Walk with me," he instructs.

"Er, okay?" I reply. Matt gives a shrug and leaves. "What's up Gilinsky?" I ask.

"Emily and I have even dating for over seven months and I want to do something special," Jack whispers.

"Awe, that's sweet," I try to sound happy. I was happy for them but It was hard to have that tone of voice on a day like this. "What do you have in mind?"

"I don't know, I was going to ask you if you had any ideas," he replies, slightly ashamed.

I think for a bit, "Well, she loves Italian food, you should take her to Olive Garden for supper and do something fun afterwards."

"Great, I was thinking about that but I didn't know any good Italian restaurants," he says, "thanks."

"No problem," I reply.

I walk into my classroom a few seconds before the tarty bell rings. I sit in a desk beside Matt. Class begins and once again I find myself getting lost in my thoughts again. I feel something small hit my arm. I look down to see a piece of crumpled up paper. I unfold it to see a message.

So bored...
Matt

I roll my eyes and write 'So am I," on the other side of the paper. I toss it over to Matt. He sneakily unfolds the piece of paper, making sure he won't get caught. He writes something on the note once more and tosses it back to me.

Want to hang at lunch?

I was about to write on the note when the teacher snaps, catching me off gaurd.

"Cadence, are you writing notes in my class?" His voice booms.

"Uhhhhh, no..." I say innocently. He frowns and snatches the sheet of paper and throws it in the garbage then continues with his lecture. After a few seconds I look over at Matt and nod. He grins.

Lunch comes around and Matt and I were just about to leave. "So where are we going exactly?" I ask.

Matt shrugs, "Where the wind takes us I guess." I throw on my leather jacket and we head out. It was cooler outside today. My gaze looks up towards the sky. It was full of big white clouds. "Coming?" Matt asks, drawing my attention towards him. I nod and we continue to walk.

"So," He says, "I hear you're in the talent show."

"The words out, huh?" I ask, watching how our steps were in sync.

He chuckles, "Actually, it is going around the school."

You'd think the word around school would be more about how Shawn, the kid who loss all of his memory, was in the talent show. He must not be mentioning it for a reason.
