Chapter 19: Shadowzone

Normal Perspective:

It had been over a week since Megatron's revival, and about a week since Bumblebee and Michael had gone out on their, as Miko kept calling it, date. And despite Megatron now being back, there had surprisingly been little to no activity.

But the Autobot's week of peace wasn't going to last long.

"I had hoped that my growing expertise on the subject would be purely academic," Ratchet said one day, after an unfortunately familiar energy signature had popped up. "but thou fate, this is clearly a Dark Energon signuature. And it's moving fast."

"Megatron..." Optimus said, knowing that only one bot would be moving the dark substance.

"Where'd he find more of the bad stuff?" Arcee asked, as she, Cliffjumper, and Bulkhead walked up.

"And what's he going to do with it?" Bulkhead asked. "Recruit a new army of the undead?"

"Zombiecons?!" Miko asked, her attention being grabbed by the conversation near her.

"We cannot rule out the possibility." Optimus said grimly. "Especially since Megatron seems to be heading to a familiar site."

Unbeknownst to the Autobots, it wasn't Megatron heading to the 'familiar site', but instead, it was actually Starscream.

Michael knew this, but the Techno-Organic soon became distracted by his thoughts of what would happen here due to him bringing the Decepticon's body back to the base.

'Since Skyquake isn't there, what would change?'

"Megatron has barely emerged from stasis, and it seems he's already making up for lost time." Optimus said sternly. "Bulkhead, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Michael, prepare to roll out!"

"Me?" Ratchet asked, surprised that he was being assigned to go with them instead of remaining at the base like he usually did.

"If we are dealing with Dark Energon," Optimus replied. "I may well require your expertise. Arcee-"

"Bridge Operator. Got it." The blue femme said, already knowing what was being asked of her.

"Go get 'em Bulkhead!" Miko said. "Bring the hurt!" The Wrecker bashed his fists together in reply.

Although Miko's reaction appeared nonchalant, Jack and Raf knew better, and said as much to each other.

"That's not like Miko to not wanna go." Jack said, knowing she was planning something.

"She's definitely up to something." The preteen replied.

"What are you guys talking about?" Jessica asked, as she sat down on the couch next to Raf as Vince walked up to them.

"Miko has a tendency to "join the 'Bots on their missions"." Jack said, giving the air quote gesture.

Jessica looked at Miko, then up at the Groundbridge, back at Miko, and then looked over at Jack again.

"Isn't that a deathwish?" She asked, as she began to picture Miko running through it without a care for her own safety.

"I honestly have no idea." Jack replied.

"She seems to be thrilled by the prospect of joining them on their missions, and we end up going with her." Raf said. "She's up to something today if she's acting so disinterested." He added, as he and Jack went back to looking at her, as Jessica and Vince joined them, waiting to see what they meant.

Michael soon joined the other Autobots at the Groundbridge and shifted to his Cybertronian form as Arcee activated the bridge, the green and white portal swirling to life as she did.
