"Scar! Scar look!" five year old Grian called his friend over. Scar turned around while pulling his hand from tree trunk. He saw Grian floating in the air couple feet from the ground.
"That's so cool! I wish I could do that..." he flickered his vex wings couple times. Little avian flew to his friend and placed hand on boy's shoulder. "It's okay! One day your wings will be stronger and we will have lots of races!" Scar didn't mean to bring other prince's mood down, sometimes he simply spoke before he could think. "I'm sorry. This was supposed to be about you. I'm sorry for ruining it." "It's okay! I'm not mad. I can't wait to race you!" The brunette boy was relieved that his friend wasn't mad at him.
"Prince Grian, prince Ryan. Please go to the dinner hall, the food is ready." Grian turned to Scar "Want to race?" "What will I get for wining?" " Why are you so sure you're gonna win ?" "I always win and you know that." There was a bit silence. "Hm... you'll get... my dessert?" Scar flashed his well known smirks. "Deal."
Running could be heard in the castles halls. "How do you always win ?!" The young prince was not happy about loosing his dessert. "An elf never reveals his secrets!" They walked through the dinning hall door.
"Prince Ryan, Grian. Please take a seat." "Yes father" Grian always became very quiet and calm around his father. He almost seemed terrified of him. He knew something was wrong but never got enough curridge to ask about it.
After the dinner Scar and hid dads had to go back to their kingdom. The two prince's hugged, while pulling away Grian whispered "Please don't forget me." "I could never" Scar responded with a smile.
"Come on kiddo. It's time to go." Scar hugged Grian for the last time. Young elf and his dads got in their carriage, butler closed the doors, they started moving and Scar looked out of the window. "It's a long trip back sunshine. You should rest a little." "I agree with your pa. And it's not like you saw him for the last time. You'll meet him next year."
But they didn't meet next year. Or year after that. Or year after that, or after that, or after that. Until all was left were glimpses of memories.
