Part 12

Everything is a blur... my father on the run.. He might come here. Steve stood right next to me when I dropped the phone. I don't remember much from last night. Putting a blanket over my head Steve grabbed me as we ran to the car, I couldn't feel anything, I felt numb. I knew that this would happen to me. I just knew it. All my nightmares, are coming true. Pipi is coming home, Steve rushed me to the school as Hopper met us there. He held onto me, to many cops surrounding me as Steve went to tell his couch about not coming in today. Everyone is a blur. I don't even have my glasses or my contacts, nothing. I wish I never picked up the phone. I felt like Billy was there but I couldn't tell you. They move me to Joyce's house, my father never met her or doesn't even know her from Adam, I hope.

Joyce put both of her arms around me as I snuggled into her. Johnathan hadn't even left for school, but Will has. Steve went back to get my newer glasses and contacts. Hopper stayed with us until it was safe, other men were going to stay behind. I told them not to. "He doesn't know that you are after him just yet. He's in three states below us. And if he thinks that I didn't go behind him this time he won't be after Steve or anyone else."

Hopper wasn't going to believe that shit. "I'm sorry darling. But I'm going to have two of my men stay here. They'll be out of sight."

I didn't say much more after that. Johnathan stayed with me while Joyce went shopping for food. I feel asleep in the living room. My memory came back from last night. Billy stayed with me. That was kind of him. Or he just felt bad since it was mostly his fault. I want to be brave like all of them. Steve sat right on the floor next to me while Johnathan helped his mom unpack the food that she had gotten. I tapped Steve's shoulder.

Steve's head turned around. "Hey nut." He whispered.

"Hi" My voice cracked.

"So I heard from Pipi."

"And?" It cracked again.

"And, he'll be home tonight with men watching our home 24/7. So we can't go to school until he is found."

"Are we on the news?"

"Not yet. And I hope not."

I did eat some soup. Pipi didn't arrive home until the very next day. Pipi thought it would be for the best if I didn't come home right away along with Steve. So this was going to be my home for the next few weeks.

One day we had all the kids over at Joyce's house. Including Max. Which was nice having another younger girl here, Joyce is wonderful don't get me wrong. But it's nice to have Max here. Joyce and Jonathan were getting dinner, while Steve and I stayed with the kids.

While we were talking and having fun. We heard a fast car. It was Billy's car. Max's mom dropped her off and it was Billy's turn to pick her up.

It was a sunny day as Max got her things. Billy hasn't seen me for weeks. I didn't hear the car coming down and parked as soon as Max got into the car. I was playing with their dog as I came from the back. "Tory is that you or am I dreaming?"

I kinda jumped as I heard his voice. He wasn't suppose to know that I'm here. Shit. I looked at him. "Yes it's me."

Billy got out of the car. "Where the fuck have you been?"

"Who wants to know?"

"Me."

Will comes out as the puppy goes back inside. "Tory it's time for lunch, mom said to come in." Joyce wasn't here she was at work. Both Johnathan and Joyce cars are gone. So it's just me watching the kids. But Billy doesn't know that.

I looked down at Will. "Okay sweetheart. I'll be on there in a minute." He runs off. I look back at Billy. "Don't worry about it Billy." Just go before the cops take you away.

"Awe come in sweetheart." Bullying me into it eh?

I sighed. "Life, Billy. Life is where I've been." I headed towards the porch as the dog came back out chasing me to go in to feed him. Sorry Billy that is all I'm going to give you.
