I was doing heavy lifting work out, as Max was fixing her skateboard. A car pulls into Tory's house it was a cop car, she got out with three garbage bags, while the cop has the other two. Her grandpa looked overly happy to see her, does that mean whatever is going on is done and over, or is this a stay for awhile and then I'm leaving risk thing that she was talking about.
"Oh good Tory's home." Max said as she looked at another window.
I didn't bother to say anything as I went back to my work out. I put a smoke in as I did another set of heavy lifting. I'm happy that she is home. But I'm not having my hopes up. I'm about to go to a party as I see her light on, it's eight and she's still home? So something changed... And she couldn't fucking tell me! I threw my cigarette bud on the ground.
I walked over there, I see the police officer. Okay so she's not out of the woods yet. I stand on the porch just before I knocked I could hear Steve and Tory talking about the party that I'm going to as well.
"Steve I'm not going. I just got home."
"Come on I'll be right with you the whole time."
"It's always you and Nancy. Barb doesn't go and I don't see Nancy trying to get her to go."
"Please I'm begging you. Well go to McDonald's and get you a soft serve ice cream."
I chuckled at the other side of the door. "Steve that only worked on him. You know it."
"PLEASE." He begged once more. "I'll buy the movies for the whole week. And you pick anytime you want to go."
I heard a loud sigh of a groan. "Ugh. Fine."
"Your the best."
I knocked on the door, cause why not shake things up. Tory answered the door. "I swear do you have some tracker on me?" She kinda smiled.
My lips smacked a bit as I smiled right back at her. "No Mayflower. I saw that you were home and I would take you to a party that's over at the river."
Tory looks back at Steve who was still getting ready I assume. "I'm going. With Steve and Nancy."
"Always the third wheel." I lean on the doorway.
"Yeah. That's normally how my life goes." Looking to see if the cops were running towards me or anything.
"You want to come with me?"
"You know I'm not your type right?"I She sighed." You don't have to Billy." Taking a step back. "Besides I don't want to ruin your brand."
"And what is my brand?"
She chuckled. "You like skinny girls and you like to be mean. I don't want them to think that you went soft."
Me soft? No way. "So then I'll meet you there then?"
"Yes, Billy I will meet you there." She gently pushes me out of the way so Stevie boy won't see me. I get that.
At the party it was a good time. At least for me it was. Girls were dancing I was drinking. Tommy was rooting for me to win the pint challenge. And I won. I came across, Steve and Nancy. But no Tory... My eyes scanned the room, she came back from the bathroom crying. Here we go again.
Tommy points and laughs at her. "Look at the cry baby whore."
Steve got into Tommy face. "Knock it off Tommy."
"Or what? Your going to do karate on me?" He busted out in laughter. "We all know how that went." He laughed so hard.
I could tell more happened to her as she backed away from every one. Her hair was messy, she wasn't drunk. She looked like a total mess. She ran outside and sat right by a tree. He skirt was ripped.
I didn't sit by her I leaned against the tree. "Who was it?"
Sniffling she rubbed her nose. "I'm fine Billy. Just please go."
"No, who the fuck was it?"
"Some underclassmen thought it would be funny. They took me in a room, along with them. And locked the door."
"Did they touch you?"
"Other than ripping my clothing? No." She rocked herself. "Can you please get Steve? I just want to go home."
"Yeah I will right after I kill the boys who did this."
Getting up she stops me. "No... They will just say I asked for it and want to start another fight. Just please get Steve."
Don't you worry, you'll tell me who they are in no time. "I have a better idea. Why don't it take you home? Let them have fun." She agreed to that.
In my car I had my jean jacket. I placed it on her as I took her home. I walked her up the stairs and inside. We both went to her room as she quickly ran to her bathroom and changed. I never saw a woman change out of bed clothing so fast.
Into her sweatpants and and cropped shirt, she climbed into bed. I took off boots as I laid next to her. "You should had never been treated this way."
Her head went to my shoulder. "I should never had gone."
"If I knew where to find you when you first arrived this wouldn't had happened."
"It's over for now." She was still shaking. She did hand me back my jacket. After I covered her up with my jacket over her. "Can I ask you a personal question Billy?"
"Of course?" Where is this going to go?
"If you could runaway right now. No worries about food and gas was all taken care of where would you go?"
"Back to California. Oh Mayflower, the waves, ugh the waves are to die for. And the store that is right next to the beach has wonderful food that I might not really want to live off. But I could so try." Well this was an odd question. But very truthful answer. "What about you?"
"I dunno. Anywhere is good to me. I lived here my whole life. Right now I'm ready for a change." My lips touched her forehead as we both just went peacefully to sleep. Steve didn't get home until one. And he went up to his room. I really thought he was going to check on her.
