We left about ten minutes after that happened, Billy wasn't there. Pipi wasn't home just yet. I crawled into my bed to pass out for the rest of the day. Steve comes into my bedroom with a small bag of ice. "I don't understand, why didn't you tell Hopper?"

"It would have made the matter worse if I did. And I can't take it anymore." He gently placed an ice pack on my neck.

"Choking you? What is he five?" Steve said as he lies on the bed.

"When you were up there listening, what happened?"

"Kelsey barked at him over some fat girl name, durning what? I dunno. The only girl that I know hangs around with him, well is you. Why didn't you stay in the car like I told you too?"

"I got car sick of them shaking it.. I thought, Billy... I was wrong." I couldn't even finish it.

"You know, when we were waiting to be called in for what happened, Billy didn't look like himself. Hell he didn't beat me shitless after I told him to stay away."

Holding the ice pack on my neck. "Hopper is pissed."

"I don't blame him."

"They don't go after him or you. They go after me because." I hold on my belly fat and shake it. "They don't care who they hurt or why."

"Nobody should be going after that or anyone."

"I wish that the three of us could move away, You, me and Nancy, maybe Johnathan we can live in a house that we all felt safe be homed school, no bullies just us."

"Yeah I dunno about Johnathan we both never got over the fight we had a few months ago."

"That's why I said maybe and when it came down to me you worked together."

My throat started to hurt as nighttime started to happen. Steve went to his own room to get comfy, I walked over to the window. There was Billy but in his own window... He really didn't look like himself like what Steve had said. I moved back from my window, I just wanted to talk to him. But I was in no mood to talk to anyone. I sat on the edge of my bed looking at my closet until morning, Steve entered noticing that I didn't get any sleep whatsoever.

He sat with me too, his head went on my shoulder. "Why do you stare at the closet?"

"When dad was still my dad, he used to scare me for fun jumping out of the closet to make me laugh... or at least I thought he was being my dad. Two years before he got caught, he had a baseball bat coming from my closet, he beat a man right in front of me who was trying to help. Nearly killed him. My nightmares of him comes from a closet, wondering if somehow by magic he's coming through that door. I wanted to be ready."

"Sis, he can't even touch you anymore, Hopper is gladly be first in line to kill him."

"I think everyone who believes my story will be happy to do it."

"Do you?"

"I do.. but how could I, you know? That's my dad who I thought he loved and wanted me." My voice got a little groggy.

"He isn't your dad, that is a monster. I get it though."

"I'm not going today."

"Neither am I. I might for practice, otherwise nothing else."

"Promise me that you will try not to get into a fight today? I dunno how many meds we can buy from the store before they start think we run a drug store."

Steve laughed a little. "Alright, I'll do my best."

He left my room as I fully got into bed since it was morning. I had fallen asleep for like three hours or so... I woke up not feeling well, I had a dream about Billy, hurting himself, not like cutting his wrist. By not eating or sleeping, driving himself to work out harder and faster. Smoking a whole lot, taking his dad's beating. From getting out of bed, I went back to my window, hos car was gone. Good he went to school, I'll ask Steve about him when he gets home.

Even more hours went by and Steve didn't come home. Maybe he wanted to stay in school to see his gal. Which is fine but I was hoping for him to come back. Down in the living room, I put the tv on. And must have gone right back to sleep.
