Billy would go to work and then go home to work out. I think that Billy and I had fallen apart. I didn't blame him. Just myself. I should had never let him in. Not that he's dating anyone, he would flirt with them and made them all tingly inside. Sitting on the sideline as the saying goes 'Always the bridesmaid never the bride.' Or in this case never to be picked first always second. Getting the leftovers.

It was one of the kids birthday parties, Steve takes me to the pool and stays there with Laurie and myself. Mike is becoming a teenager. He hated the pool, the only reason why I can think that we are here is because of Mrs.Wheeler likes Billy a lot. I haven't spoken to Billy, yup there they go flirting with each other.. it makes me sick to my stomach. Steve leans over. "Imagine how Nancy and Mike feel."

"Is Ted that dumb?" I asked as we entered the pool.

Johnathan, my best friend in the whole wide world! I haven't seen him in months as well. He works, two jobs, I don't know how he does it! Johnathan saw me with a grin on his face and came over to me and somewhat picked me up. "I was begaining to wonder what you looked like."

"Same here squirt.." Johnathan wouldn't have taken me off to the side. "If you want I can take you home once you say hi to the kids. Nancy and I were heading out soon for a job."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

I nod as I made my way to see the kids, Max hugged me so tight that I almost had fallen over. Summer has taken over everyone's life. Hearing Billy's chuckle. I didn't say anything to him. "Having fun Max?" Mostly it was all boys.

"Not really."

"Want Johnathan to take you home also?"

"You can feel the room?"

"Oh yea."

"Great." Max had stayed longer than I had. So taking her home was for the best. I said hi to my boys and then Johnathan started up the car as Max and I headed out with Nancy.

"Sorry mom. But Tory and Max along with myself need to leave. I have something I need to show them." Waving to her mom and dad as we headed out.

Billy calls out for me, as I stop. Turning to face him. "Yeah?"

"Leaving so soon?"

"Yeah. Nancy has something that she wanted to show me and Max wanted to go home.." Max was with Nancy at this point.

"And you were just going to leave without saying hi or bye."

"Well you have Mrs. Wheeler to ocpie you so I didn't think I needed too." Putting a gum into his mouth as he smiled. "I need to go."

Grabbing my wrist. "See you tonight?"

"No. I'm babysitting." Yanking my wrist away from him.

"Your pet awaits you." I stormed off. It was pretty much a lie and Steve saw the whole thing and didn't want to start anything because there were too many people around.

When I got home, Max did stay with me as Steve pulled into the driveway. He too had to go to work, Billy came to the door. "Is she here?"

"Tory? No. In fact I thought she told you she wasn't going to be home."

"Her light is on."

"And?"

Billy took the hint as he would try climbing up the window and I wasn't there, in fact I am with Max not babysitting. Spending the night with her. When Billy entered the house seeing me braiding her hair he was in a shock as Neil started to speak. "Are you sure it's alright?"

"Yes. I haven't seen Max in forever, that I'm sure. Go take your wife out and have fun."

Neil saw Billy. "Well look who is finally home." Neil walked into his room.

Max was talking to me about how excited she was about going to see a movie and then staying up late. I know Billy is watching or if not good for him. "Sure whatever you want Max."

"You're here."

I looked up from braiding her hair. "You're here too." Wrapping her hair up in a hair tie. "Go get your shoes on kid."

"Why?"

"Why what Billy? I thought you'd be happy on not watching her. "

No words as Max's comes back in. "Ready."

"Bye Billy." Since you made it a big deal that I didn't say hi or bye at the pool.

"I'll take you two."

"It's okay. Steve is." We both headed out the door as Steve was waiting in the car.
