Another few weeks goes by, Steve and I are all healed up, Kelsey somewhat had been leaving me alone. Maybe Hopper scared the living shit out of her. Which is nice, with Tommy up to his same old shitty self. I headed towards the library when Billy and I bumped into each other. "Sorry." I said.
When his eyes met mine he didn't know what to say other than quickly saying. "Sorry." As well and heading back to his team mates.
I was kinda shocked that he didn't say anything else after that, like 'hey where you going' or 'are you going to watch me play and beat Steve at this game or what?' As I sat and read some more, I felt like there has to be more to this than what I'm seeing. Max comes in with Dustin. "Max." She smiled and came over to see me.
"What's up?" Max hugged me a little.
"Can I ask you something about Billy?"
"Yeah?"
"Why is he acting weird?"
Max and I sat down. "After what he did to you.. something clicked. I think his memory came up about his mom.. From what I can remember, his dad did hurt his mom a lot. And I think what he did to you was out of the question. So he's been blaming himself more I guess, he hasn't been mean to me much lately."
"I'm happy that he hasn't. Thank you Max. It's been a long time since I've seen you. I hope that you are doing well."
"I've been okay, hanging out with my friends. Maybe we can go to the movies sometime?"
"How about next week?"
"Love that... I have to go, but I'll see you soon."
Later on that night Steve was getting ready for a party. "Now I'm only asking you because you know I have too. Do you want to come?"
"You know what... Why not? I think I'm at okay part of my life that I think I can handle it."
Steve was a little bit overjoyed about me wanting to go, like really go this time and not have to force it. Nancy and I were sitting on the couch waiting for Steve to come back with the drinks. "Alright here we are my ladies." Handing us all one.
"Thanks Steve."
Billy comes out in a roar after winning another drinking game, then he sees me with a drink in my hand. No smile no nothing he just walked past us like we were nothing. Within the hour I got up and headed to the bathroom, I opened one door. I see Billy banging Kelsey. I shut the door as fast as I could. I don't think they saw me or anything. Getting to the right bathroom I stayed in there for a minute and then got Nancy and Steve a drink.
I didn't say anything to anyone, I went out to look at the moon when I heard Tommy talking to Billy. I couldn't hear what it was about but I covered my ears and closed my eyes trying to find my happy place. Tommy saw me rip my hands from my ears. "Look what we got here Billy somebody listening in."
"That's enough Tommy. You're drunk."
"Nah, not that drunk... You know what Billy we could have a three some right now." I punch Tommy in the face.
"I'll never do such a thing with you."
Tommy pulls me by my hair and makes sure that my face was in his crotch area. "See Billy I told you she was a whore!"
Billy knocks both of us over, head hits one of the rocks, my skull didn't crack, but I know I did hit something. Thankfully Johnathan was there. "Steve!" Johnathan shouts out. My head was bleeding. Steve and most of the people came out.
Steve kneels before me. "Shit we have to go to the hospital now."
The fight was broken up by Kelsey. As Johnathan and Steve helped me to Steve's car. My eyes rolled back of my head. I dreamed that I was in Billy's car, we were at one of his favorite beach's. I got out of the car, I saw Billy coming up from the water. I sat down on the sand. Sticking his board in the sand.
"Mayflower you are finally awake." He kissed my cheek.
"How long was I out for?"
"Four hours, but you drove most of the night.. so I let you sleep in."
"Where are we?"
"Callie, we left school remember?"
We did our dream then... we left or ran away from Hawkins. "Sorry, I guess I'm still catching up."
"It's alright my Mayflower. You want some ice cream. My treat."
"Sure." Billy got up from the sand and dusted himself off. He was about to leave. "I didn't tell you what kind."
"Anything chocolate." That sounds like me. I nod my head. "I know my Mayflower like the back of my hand."
