The first thing he noticed was not the sound of waves crashing onto the warm sand, or the prideful sunset, nor was it the plain-looking boy next to him. No, it was none of these things. Because the first thing he noticed was the lack of that familiar electrical thrum that always ran itself through his veins. He was in his normal form, nothing but sunken eyes and bones. His quirk that he always huddled around, blowing it gently so it wouldn't go out, was gone.

He felt utterly and entirely empty.

That was until he looked at the young man next to him. His green fluffy hair and scattered freckles seemed familiar. Foggy images of a boy on the swings all alone came back to him. Then he remembered what he had written down all that time ago. The visions he had. This was the third one.

The first one being when he presumably meets and saves the boy (the presage also gave him the very pleasant view of his death, but he doesn't want to think about that. Not how just moments before he woke up he was witnessing black spikes coming towards him. A gruesome death indeed).

The second was a funeral. He forgot who it was. A kid with a red cap and matching red shoes was on a picture next to the casket. He remembers that his successor (he really has one. Or did he have one?) wasn't there. The one person that everyone thought would be there wasn't. Then he woke up before he saw who appeared out of the dark, swirling portal that had materialized.

And just like always, he can't quite control what he does, or even thinks.

Soon he started to talk, or at least the him that's in this vision, "Know that this is not your fault, Young Midoriya. I knew this would happen sooner or later. I'm just glad I got to use the last embers to save." Midoriya's eyes start to water- not that Yagi is surprised. He likes to tease the young hero (yes, Young Midoriya is a hero. More of a hero than many of the pros will ever be) on his waterworks, but in reality, it's refreshing. Yagi appreciates his student's empathy and compassion, and the fact that he's not afraid to show it, either.

Yagi doesn't even know the boy yet. Doesn't even think he's ever met him before (maybe once, years ago. But who knows), but he yearns to protect and guide him with every bone in his body. Midoriya's eyes sparkle with a dream that will no doubt be accomplished. He knows this, and knows that this boy becoming the next holder of One For All was the best decision he has and will ever make.

"Thank you, All Might. I-I honestly don't know where I would be without you. I promise I'll continue to make you proud," Midoriya promises. Yagi believes him wholeheartedly.

It seems the other Toshinori agrees because he rubs the teen's head and says, "I know, my boy."

Yagi Toshinori sits up and looks over to see that it's still dark out. Morning not to come for another few hours. His eyes are already drooping, his brain already fogging with the need to sleep since apparently having auguries doesn't count as rest. But he has to write down what he experienced before he forgets. He can already feel it slipping away. The boy's face turning blurry and muffled.

    Young Midoriya.

He repeats the name over and over again while grabbing his journal that holds the other two visions as well. He just needs to get the name down. That's the most important thing. He chants the name until he finally gets it on paper. Yagi tries to add details about the vision, but it's already gone.

He looks down at the paper that holds a single name. Not even a full name, but it possesses great  importance. He just hopes that someday he will get to meet his successor.

    And remember him.

His leg is on fire. The pain only adds fuel to his rage as he stares at Chinen's near-black eyes. No one moves. The only sound is heavy breathing echoing throughout the cement storage room. Yaku's face is stitched with a crazed smile as he stares back. Hato vigilantly analyzes the other people in the room. All intimidating and desperate. Desperate for what, Hato doesn't know. To get their hands bloody? Only two have quirks that are mutations. A man with two razor sharp horns protruding from his forehead and a woman who has the gigantic eyes of an owl and a beak instead of a nose.
