Soobin studied the simple ring he got, huffing in determination before shutting the small box close and pushing open the front door of the cafe. He scanned the cafe, surprised not to see Jisu anywhere in sight.

He approached Min Jeong worriedly, scared he had actually fired Jisu because of his stubbornness. Min Jeong looked up from her nails to lock eyes with Soobin who stood in front of her anticipatingly.

"She's in the kitchen, loverboy." Min Jeong hummed before getting up from her seat, looking to the side before gesturing for Soobin to lean in. He did so rather hesitantly, ears perking up to catch what Min Jeong would whisper in his ear.

"Customers aren't allowed access, but I'll allow it. Just grab an apron from the rack and you'll blend right in." Soobin thanked Min Jeong hurriedly before briskly making his way to the doors at the side.

Min Jeong watched him in amusement, shaking her head before sitting back down and continuing to observe her nails, bored since most customers were at school or work at that moment.

"Soobin?" Jisu questioned in confusion, stopping in her tracks with the baking tray and seeing Soobin emerge from the doors, wearing an identical apron to hers. He offered a meek smile before approaching her.

Jisu's jaw dropped in an offended manner as Soobin took the baking tray filled with cookies from her and placed them delicately in the oven before closing the lid, Jisu having pre-heated the oven already.

"I could've done that myself," Jisu whined as she folded her arms, glaring at Soobin. He ruffled her hair gently, letting a brief smile appear on his lips. Jisu looked at him questioningly as he started to scratch the back of his neck.

"Could you teach me English?" Soobin hummed, grinning slightly as Jisu raised an eyebrow at him. Soobin maintained his composure when Jisu hadn't answered immediately before clarifying.

"Yun-Jae has this friend from abroad, and I want to speak to her in her first language." Lies. But Jisu seemed to have bought it, which made Soobin's shoulders ease from the tension. Technically, it wasn't all lies...

"Ok. When do you want to start?" Jisu hummed as she walked to the table in the middle of the kitchen to clean up the mess she had made to make the cookies. She had switched roles with Min Jeong since Min Jeong's specialty wasn't cookies.

"Like, right now," Soobin mumbled as he glanced at the clock, mentally sighing in relief seeing that it was now the time when Jisu's shift was over. Jisu's eyes widened in surprise before turning back to Soobin abruptly.

Soobin nodded his head quietly as Jisu continued to stare at him, intrigued as to why Soobin's interest in the language suddenly peaked. Jisu shrugged before unlacing her apron and getting ready to go on her break.
