"Guys." Diara said as she walked in my room.

"Yes?" Brisa looked up as I looked up from my guitar and notebook.

"What are soul ties?" She asked, chewing gum as she came and sat in my vanity chair.

"You and Jace." I smirked and Brisa laughed.

"The hell. No we're not." She frowned, brushing her hair back.

"Call him and ask him." I told her, nodding my head towards her as I looked back down at my guitar.

She pulled out her phone and scrolled on it before I heard the familiar facetime ring. It rung once before we heard Jace pop up and Diara moved so we could see her screen.

"Hey, mamas. You straight?" Jace asked and I looked over and it looked like he was in a car.

"Yeah. Do you think we have soul ties?" She asked and I heard laughter in the background as he laughed too.

"Hell yeah." Him and the other people, who I recognized as my brother and Jaxon, agreed.

She just sucked her teeth and hung up. She rolled her eyes as she put her phone on my vanity.

"TT!" Diara yelled out the door and a few moments later my momma appeared with my dad.

"Yes, Di?" She asked as my dad looked over her shoulder at me.

"Do you think Jace and I have soul ties?" She pouted and they both laughed before answering.

"Hell yeah." They shrugged and Diara threw her hands up dramatically.

"I give up." She sighed, leaning back in my chair.

"What're you doing, Lolo?" Dad asked and I looked up at him.

"Tryna find a good beat for this one part in me and Jax's song." I told him and he nodded before looking over at Brisa.

"Ew, why is she here?" He scrunched up his face and me and Diara laughed.

"We can fight, right now." Brisa pretended to square up and he raised his eyebrows.

Brisa and my dad always had this "beef" between them. It was all jokes and my dad truly loved Brisa like his own daughter, that's just how they were.

"Leave her alone, Luka. We gotta leave anyways." Momma said and I looked at him with a raised brow.

"Where you guys going? Must be thinking you grown or something." I muttered, shaking my head as I wrote something else in my notebook.

"Not that it's your business.." Daddy trailed off, playfully glaring at me. "We're going out with your aunts and uncles."

"I wanna go." I cheesed, knowing damn well I wasn't going with them.

"Now, you already know, Melody." Momma rolled her eyes, beginning to leave the room. "But Kayden on his way back from the store. I put some money in you guy's accounts so you can go get something to eat."
