"Ma'am, we need you to calm down-"
"No, what you need to do is give me a fucking update on my brother. We been here for 2 hours and you still don't know shit?" I mugged her because what the fuck.
"Melody, come here." Daddy said and I sighed, rolling my eyes at the lady at the desk before walking away.
I went and sat in the chair next to him as he put his arm around my shoulder. I laid my head on him and I sighed.
"Why he been back there so long? It's just his ankle." I frowned as he rubbed my arm.
"Just chill, Mel. I'm sure they gonna call us soon." He told me and I nodded.
I was scrolling on my timeline as I tried to pass even more time. I heard someone walk in and immediately perked up.
"Family of Kayden Nills." The doctor said and we all sprung up and I walked over quickly.
"Is everything okay? What happened?" I asked.
"Who are you to Mr. Nills?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.
"His sister now tell me what happened."
"Well, he's fine and up for the most part but he may be a little drowsy as we have him on pain medication. He sprained his ankle and won't be able to use it at full capacity for about six weeks. I heard he plays basketball, correct?" He told us.
"Yes, he does." Momma answered.
"Well, I would recommend that after his ankle heals he doesn't play for about 3 weeks while he gets used to using it again." The doctor said and I heard Jace groan.
"Bruh, what the fuck?" He said and I looked back at him then back at the doctor.
"What room he in?" I asked.
"Room 204 but-"
I ignored him and walked off down the hall. It didn't take long to find him and when I did, I busted in the room.
A nurse was fixing his IV as he flicked through channels on the TV. His foot was propped up in a cast before his eyes drifted over to me.
I rushed over to him and wrapped him in a hug as he hugged me back. The nurse left the room and I pulled away and glared at him.
"Don't ever scare me like that again." I frowned and he put his hands up.
"All I did was sprain my ankle because that bitch made an illegal move. He just mad his team suck. But what they say about me playing basketball again?" He asked and I paused.
"Um..." I trailed off and heard the door open.
Momma, Brisa, and Daddy walked in and they all walked over. Momma wrapped Kayden in a tight hug as he hugged her back.
"Y'all acting like I was about to die or something." He laughed as momma pulled away.
He couldn't say much else though before she slapped him and glared at him.
